Blue Gravity support
Ticket submitted Sunday night requesting domain addition.
Within a few hours I received a reply from "customer support" telling me that the ticket has been upgraded, an administrator would need to add the domain and will be getting back shortly. Several hours later, no reply. I reply asking for an update. Nothing in response. Monday morning rolls around, no domain. I reply to ticket again asking for an update. Nothing in response. Several hours later I call. Speak with "customer support." He tells me that an administrator will add my domain sometime that day. Monday night. No domain. Very frustrated. Tuesday morning. No domain. Still frustrated. I get on Live Chat and again talk with "customer support." He tells me that an administrator will be in the office soon and will be adding my domain. That was about five hours ago. -- Does anyone have a contact at Blue Gravity? Between this and their recent invoicing stupidity, may have to say goodbye. |
I thought I was reading stuff last week that hinted they were no more.

I heard they sold to another company, they probably outsourced support so the old owner is not there to take care of stuff and the new owner is not sure about the system or busy?
Probably needs a week or so to clean things up. I remember when we bought tear2 the first week was a nightmare, but then things smoothed out quickly. |
They have been under new ownership for months now.
The new owners haven't disclosed their identity, no one uses their names, it seems impossible to get a hold of anyone and the management interface was down for a long time. Probably not the best way to reassure your customers. |
i moved 6 months ago ...this kinda thing was going on then...they took forever to add a domain and even longer to reply ...
I ended up doing paypal dispute and got 3 months refund as it took nearly that long to add a few domains ... |
Dont bother with blue gravity
I was with Blue Gravity for 12 years. Customer number 146 for pete's sake. I only have six active personal domains with little to no traffic (used to have adult sites but not anymore) so I stayed because it's been $10/mo forever. When they were in NJ they had STELLAR customer support. I've never seen a better-run service dept (at least for someone with needs as small as mine).
BUT... (insert rant warning here...) Apparently they sold to someone in Torrance CA who doesn't know FUCKALL about customer support. It's no wonder they're hiding because I've never seen such a 180 turn in service. First it was billing. I know there was some frustration with that under Thomas Krwawecz's reign, but for $10/mo I was willing to deal with the only thing they were bad at and often I was credited when I had to call to get things straight. With these new "mysterious" people? OMG. I should be billing THEM for the time I've wasted trying to work this out. (Fortunately I do finally have it sorted, but the way they express a positive balance in your account is asinine. Nothing in the Control Panel is intuitive to the customer.) Then it was email. Server names changed without notice - suddenly I'm getting no email and I'm hearing from friends that mail is being returned. WTH? I go to the "News" section of the Control Panel to see what's up and there's nothing posted. I get someone on live support and they say oh, you should've changed your settings. Well how the hell was I supposed to know that since you didn't bother emailing me beforehand or posting anything on your site? Oh sorry... we use Twitter to notify customers of changes. SAY WHAT? Are you a REAL business or a bunch of high school kids? The POP servers still don't play nice with Eudora either. Whatever. This week's problem is domain names. I'm having to track down domains that I was holding because some are up for renewal but it appears some of my domains got transferred to the new BG registrar while some went to Names Beyond. (And WhoTF is that?!) One of the domains appears to be registered in two places (can't figure out how the hell they managed that) and some of them have disappeared altogether. And domainreg.com doesn't even exist anymore so I can't go back and look at what was there to make sure I'm actually finding everything I had reserved. FUN!! I see recently they've redesigned the landing page to say they're the "premier adult web host." Are you kidding me? Unless they want to hire me as their new CSM (and I'm available AND I already live in SoCal!) I wouldn't touch them with a 39.5 foot pole. I can't imagine how much trouble they caused for companies with active adult sites that have real traffic. Or maybe I just don't count because I only pay $10/mo. Silly me, thinking that all customers are created equal just because that's how I've always treated others. These people have no business being in business. /rant |
I see this was bumped the other day so I will post an update. I moved everything off of Blue Gravity last month. They went from pretty good to beyond terrible.
