Why do people on Welfare get Free Cell Phones?

Can someone please tell me why my tax dollars are paying for them to have a cell phone?

SafeLink phones are not paid for by taxpayers or the federal government. TracFone Wireless pays for the phones and also the cost of promoting its SafeLink program to make sure that eligible consumers know about the program.

Who do you think owns or sits on the board of Safe Link.

I actually looked into this and learned it was a law that Ronald Regan passed that provides basic phone service to the poor and it wasn't until about a year that FCC ruled that it could be a basic cell plan instead of just landline because the cells were cheaper.

If only there were some sort of solution.. ya know... some sort of FINAL solution.

Yeah America seems to give away as much as the UK when it comes to welfare.

Me and my girlfried work hard to pay for a huge mortgage etc, yet her friend gets her house, taxes, and loads of other shit all paid for her because she "claims" to be a single parent out of work, when really she does work and has a boyfriend staying with her who also works full time.

If you are a single mom in this country, you don't have to work. Actually working entry level jobs means less money after taxes than being on welfare. Go figure.

Yeah.. they are not buying phones but they are using the funds from the USF charge and lifeline to subsidize companies such as this one. Worked in telecom for 10 years... thx.
