Why is this world full of douche bags now?
(rant)
Why the hell is this world become about proving to people you are somehow a good or better person than others? Always some fucking idiot walking for this disease walking for that disease. FUCK YOU. You didnt do shit! You just fucking walked! Save your donations I will tell you to fuck off. Some douche bag from Calgary is climbing mount everest for charity. Do you know how many Sherpas have climbed Everest throughout history? I dont. But i can bet they werent asking for handouts for some stupid ass charity to pat themselves on the back. Climb the mountain for adventure and fuck off. Why do people have to always do something with a "cause" these days? Whatever happened to living your life, taking care of your family and minding your own fucking business. I am for one tired of these do gooder idiots. If you really gave a fuck about Cancer you would become a doctor and study the disease. Fuck you, fuck your walks, bike rides, mustache wearing, head shaving douche bags and no im not posting on facebook "if i have known someone with so and so disease" Leave me alone. |

wow metaman you need a nice relaxing scalp massage
I'll start a charity walk for you |
|
Probably already have a cure - should use the money on lawyers and stronger lobbyists to get pharmaceutical companies to release it
|
You really don't see the benefit of things like that? Everytime I read one of your posts it seems like some 16 year old trying to be cool for the "adults". I can only imagine how big of a tool you really are.
Walks/events/runs bring a ton of attention to the charities and diseases involved. Bringing it to the attention of thousands is way more effective than one person donating is yearly $100. |

wtf does a run or walk do? go get a fucking degree and solve the shit. Go adopt an ophan kid if you really give a fuck about the world. I dont have time for pussies. Last guy came to my door telling me about world vision. I spent half an hour telling him the reasons why his charity work is a scam. Donating to cause is fine. But do it in silence and dont pat yourself on the back. do it because you want to. massive difference. Why would i need the attention of a bunch of idiots like yourself? |
That's how it is, welcome to the real world of humans. Everyone wants to look better than another not realizing he is a piece of ...name it. The world including the web is full of hypocrisy, double standards and lack of rudimentary logic. I like turtles by the way.

why are you so angry?

wow what a lot of selfish bullshit
if you can't tolerate to hear that someone else is doing something good for someone else out of the kindness of their heart then you are seriously bitter and twisted didnt we just spend the last x years listening to how fuckin wonderful you were based on nothing more than the size of your dick ????? |
people walk or run or climb because it gets attention for X or Y . If you asked people to donate money just because, they wouldn't, but because there is a race or a marathon or something, they get interested and open their wallets. It's a fail proof system.
Personally I think it's great. Helping others that really need it makes you a better person and gives you the satisfaction of having done something great. |

I do nice shit for people and tell no one. I do it because i want to do it. Not to get publicity and a pat on the back. I respect people who donate and do not say a word. People who politic their deeds do not get my credit. If you really give a shit you be hands on. |

No it doesnt make you a better person going for a run. I go for a run everyday almost. Next time at the gym i am going to run with my ribbon on and pat myself on the back. |

if it wasnt for fundraisers and things like this alot of money that goes to people's medical care and research for medications wouldnt ever get donated. just a way of bringing attention to a cause and trying to help. if your kid got a rare form of cancer ..would you rather take the whole load on your back and what you can pay for upfront?... or would you like to have the ability to help them even more by using the facilities or techinological advances these fundraisers pay for?.. its easy to point the finger until its your ass fire shitting your guts out every 30 minutes :( |

Verses how much is going towards overhead, staffing, administrators, marketing, etc? Also, many fundraisers are managed by outside 3rd parties who take their, often exorbitant, financial cut of the proceeds. Furthermore, often is the case that very little money from such organizations ever reach those truly in need - the biggest donor of money for medical research is the U.S. government followed by pharmaceutical companies (which generally don't seek out cures, but rather expensive long-term treatments, but that's a whole discussion in and of itself). Don't get me wrong, it's great people want to help through interactive fundraisers, such as runs and walks, which are fun for those who attend; makes people feel good... However, I assume is the point MetaMan is making is that putting those efforts more directly towards the organization's mission (ie. finding the cure to X) without all the extra fanfare would be more meaningful and productive. I dont have to use someone else's hardships to make myself sound or feel like a good person. These do gooder types FEED off other peoples hardships. They crave it. It makes me completely sick. It's like donating to the food bank and people give the worst shit in their cupboard even their dog doesn't want to eat. Like wow people sure help causes! |
