I'm glad so many people are crying and worried about japan and their people when there are AMERICANS who die every week in Afghanistan and none of that is on the news and no one cares.

A life lost is a life lost, certainly tragic no matter who or where- but - an act of nature killing 100s of unsuspecting civilians in their homes cannot and should not be compared to casualties of war.

this is a natural disaster; you're comparing apples to oranges.

Afghanistan = terrorist / bombs (BAD)
Japan = Sony TV LED / Robots/ Sushi (GOOD)

I think this issue is more about family and your loved ones. You might not care about the fate of strangers.

We rely on the Japanese for all the great technology we have, they also have the best brands IMO. Not saying this is why people care lol, a big earthquake happens course it's gunna be talked about... And FYI when soldiers die it is mentioned on the news. I'm not 100% sure if every American soldier that's KIA is mentioned on American news channels but in the uk almost every soldier that dies is usually mentioned on the news here. Other countries don't talk about foreign soldiers dieing in war unless it's something pretty messed up, that's the way the cookie crumbles.

One is an act of nature, the other is an orchestrated act of war/control/insertyourreasonhere

all generations grow up with war now, its just another day and part of the norm sadly.
