They're Fucking with our Sushi :((((
Tokyo (CNN) -- Japan began dumping thousands of tons of radioactive water into the Pacific Ocean on Monday, an emergency move officials said was needed to curtail a worse leak from the crippled Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant.
In all, about 11,500 tons of radioactive water that has collected at the nuclear facility will be dumped into the sea, officials said Monday, as workers also try to deal with a crack that has been a conduit for contamination. http://www.cnn.com/2011/WORLD/asiapc...ex.html?hpt=T2 :mad::mad::mad: |

sigh... |
That sucks...
Buddy of mine asked me last night if I wanted to join him and his girl for some sushi and I declined. He goes to the "best" places and is a big time know it all for sushi... which means he definitely is getting the just caught stuff off the coast of Japan. I told him to bring a Geiger counter. |
nightmare.

A lot actually comes from the north Atlantic. Bluefin & bigeye tuna etc.
|
Heard some expert on CNN earlier totally totally downplaying it as completely insignificant because it will disperse SO fast and SO far that it would be virtually indistiguishable from normal background radiation.
Not sure I liked his approach since it was borderline dismissive, but maybe it was encouraging for the Japanese fish eating public. |
