Waterproof a metal shed roof?
Would be great if some of you have experience in this already.
I need to waterproof my metal sheds roof, first I'm going to seal the gaps in the roof with waterproof sealer, will the sealer keep the shed waterproof and for how long if I don't decide to paint the roof with waterproof paint. :helpme |
if it was done right it won't leak to start with. When you put tin on the roof it is made to overlap so that seals the seams and they should have used a special screw with rubber washers that seal when screwed down. :) So if its leaking you got holes in it and that sucks :)

The shed was lying in the garder for about 3 months until I actually started building it so maybe the weather misshapened the roof causing it to leak. |
I cant afford to waterproof a metal shed roof...

Simple, go to the hardware store and get the coating they use for older Mobile homes to do their roofs, it's a think rubber like paint, I used it on a Old Tent trailer I had, worked great!

Lots of products for that, like a thick paint and used for trailer homes and such, try searching google for roof coating for metal roofs

If you really want to waterproof it, use an rubberized underlay (like Grace ice and water shield).

I only want something to fill in the gaps inbetween each layer of the roof really, the shed is only about 6 - 7ft wide. Please post some links to products if you have the time.

ATM I'm looking at this, its quite cheap, not 100% sure if people would use it for a metal shed roof though. Looking at the specs do you think this does the job? Looks like I might neeed to buy a few though.
