Some Canadians could receive a 6-months free deal from Rogers when they signed up for a 3-year contract.

The real gem in this is the terms... overage fees:
"Additional data transmission is charged at 5¢/MB for all for all domestic data plans 500MB+ excluding flex rate plans. While roaming in the U.S., data transmission charges of 0.6¢/kB apply. While roaming internationally, data transmission charges of 3¢/kB apply." That's 5 cents a MB. Roaming fees within North America are a whopping $0.06 a kB! |
i'd love to get some of the american companies up here and destroy these turds.

the plan most people have at about $50 a month has a 60GB cap with 2 dollar a gig overage and the absolutely slowest download and upload speeds of any developed country on the planet. |
Thanks for noticing.

i refuse to deal with rogers or bell because of it, haven't for years.

Good ole Robbers and Hell.

Data and Cable has always been retarded in Canada.
The more i return to Canada, the more I cant fucking believe how retarded its getting. The prices you guys have to pay are unreal, the dollar is stronger than the USD currenetly but it's still treated like its at 1.4. I can't believe they fine you 5000 and impound your car for 10 days if they catch you driving 150km/hour (90 mph). That shit is nothing, people are driving that fast and texting in florida. And no wonder everyone wants to work for the government, My friends wife who works there just had a kid. She gets 95% pay for 1 year (6 figures)! and he gets a month off paid also. They just plan to pop out kids all day at this point |
we are getting to a point where these guys need to be reminded who they work for
|
Canadians are docile, they just accept the way things are even if they make no sense and are happy they have 'free' healthcare.
But everybody's online now and talking to friends from the US and Europe and seeing how much less people in other countries are paying for so many things. Getting a job with the Canadian government is winning the lottery. I have a sister who works for some ministry and I know what she does, her job could be outsourced for $800 a month. Honest to god, her boss who makes like $200,000 a year sends her out to pick up his dry cleaning and I believe once a month she gets sent out to get take out food for her entire department and I think the taxpayers pay for that - could be wrong but I doubt it. |
ridiculous !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
|
Look at vonage.com and vonage.ca pricing plans ... complete ripoff in Canada it was reported yesterday in the media we pay on average 20-30% more than our American cousins makes no sense when our CAD $ is worth 5% more ... complete bullshit!
|
The speed I get with the highest speed internet is alright, but I still would like more for $100 a month, especially considering that it is actually $150 a month after I hit the cap (which I do every month).
But cable tv is brutal and cell phones? I don't even go with a contract from rogers I have to get a prepaid plan with them. Every time I've ever signed a contract with Rogers it's come back to bite me in the ass. |
canadian prices are the way they are because of the sparse population and huge geographical area.
jam everyone in canada onto pei and the prices will come down. |
Yep. Rogers is bullshit. I switched to Telus, but even so we're still over charged in Canada for the same, better services available in the US.

there are some cheaper providers now but data plans still get pricey because they have to use their lines/towers for it. |
surprise, they are not on the edge of bankrupcy, they got healthcare, no gun issues..and the list goes on

They need some competition |
I am with rogers and have a ''Special Plan'' 50$/month unlimited in and out Canada and US.
No complaints here ;) |
