Question for you GFYers

You are paying X for a web host per month. They want to increase your price by about 500%. They only give you 7 (SEVEN) days to find a new host and move all of your stuff before the new price is charged to your CC.

Do you find this acceptable customer service?

Theo 04-26-2011 08:16 PM

Not at all, let alone I never heard before a hosting co. increasing their prices.

Cyber Fucker 04-26-2011 09:23 PM

Must be some really shady one. Not acceptable.

taken300 05-23-2011 01:26 PM

Never!!!

malcarada 05-23-2011 05:37 PM

They will increase your prices if you signed up for the account using a special promotion code, otherwise it is not likely fees will go up so much.

CyberHustler 05-23-2011 05:40 PM

What host are we speaking about here?

Scott-ISMC 05-23-2011 06:07 PM

totally not customer service imo.

Si 05-23-2011 06:42 PM

Who is it? please post the name so we can avoid them.

I had a shared plan with fatcow until recently for my starter sites. 1st year was only $50 which isn't bad for an unlimited shared hosting, this year they wanted $110 so I killed the account. Over 2Xs the price for a worse service, they have been fucking the user panel up to no end.

I'd move, unless you were getting a special deal for the 1st year or something.

Your new host can help you move everything over.

kazymjir 11-21-2011 08:57 AM

What?! Totally unacceptable!

baddog 11-21-2011 11:58 AM

There has to be more to this story. What was the justification they gave for a 500% rate hike?

Truth be told, I would think you would want to leave immediately, if not sooner if they did not have a legit reason for the price hike.
