Legality of non-nude voyeur video???
 

Just throwing an idea out there and wondering if it's even legal.

You carry a camcorder to a public place and just pretty much film some random sexy girl. Then you put it up on your paysite.

Is this legal?

I guess not without their consent - but I may be wrong.

Head out to the mall or beach or anyplace and give it a shot.

Perfectly legal. If they're out in public then they have no reasonable expectation of privacy.
Hidden cams in changing rooms and bath rooms are a whole other story, of course.

Here is what I've culled from Googling, but I'm still not quite sure. I'm trying to apply this to carrying a camcorder downtown, and just filming the hot girls that walk around.

1. People in a public place should not expect privacy.
2. A model release is required if the person is being shown to promote a product.

Just curious for ways to save money. I'm pretty sure if I offered a random hot girl $20 to let me just take pictures of her in public and sign a model release form, she'd let me.

Right, if you're selling the video you'll need releases. If you plan to offer the video for free on a site and sell the advertising then no releases necessary. Think TMZ or YouTube.

Edit: Oops, just saw "Then you put it up on your paysite." in your original post - that'll be a problem, but you could use what you shoot in free galleries and the such.

I guess the example in your case would be, standing on the Strip and just filming the pedestrians while focusing on any good looking girls.

Probably not illegal. But sounds creepy and sleazy, for damn sure.

I dunno... I mean, isn't this kind of how Jenn Sterger and Pamela Anderson got famous? Being filmed in public places?

I thought about doing that when I lived there but worried about the legality so never did it.

put it up on a tube. use banners to upsell voyeur sites, tasers.

can always say a user uploaded it.

there are thousands of such videos on youtube btw. plenty of people have channels devoted to their videos of chicks in public.
