Let the .xxx price wars begin!
YNOT ? On Friday, a second domain registrar revealed tentative pricing for dot-xxx domains. According to a report at DomainIncite.com, U.K.-based registrar DomainMonster will offer the adults-only domains at prices ranging from U.S. $75 to $300.

they will sell fast, and hopefully go no where... sad that I can't see a way out of buying my own sites domains as a "just in case" this turns into the future home of all porn. Defensive buying will make the .xxx sell like hotcakes, but might be 10 years before the domains have any actual worth.

Really, how many people do you think have top level adult domains that they have developed or very high traffic, branded domains they are looking to protect? a couple thousand domains/sites at most ? Do you think a program that has 50 - 100 bs cookie cuter sites is going to run out and buy the .xxx for each one at $130 or whatever a pop? How many you feel forced to buy? 1, 5, 10 ? as these prices creep up there is going to be less and less domains registered. You people are going to be shocked at how few registrations there is going to be if the prices stay high. Unless you have a really good 2 keyword domain or a very high traffic site, no one is going to buy your domain anyways, so no point in feeling forced to do it. Like for example bustedonfilm.com, you would be a fool to buy bustedonfilm.xxx no one else is going to be buying .xxx domains like that at $130 a pop. And in the rare event that .xxx is forced on us in the future, you could easily register them then. |
I plan on buying ZERO .XXX LTDs

75 to 300 is a huge gap...a domain is a domain so why the difference?
|
Why did they have to use this example:
“Let’s in Sunrise, BigBoobs.com’s owner and BigBoobs.net’s owner both apply and qualify,” he said. “We send just those two parties to a mini-auction. Otherwise, who would we award [the domain] to? What’s fair? Some names have thousands of ‘hopefuls’ applying under the ‘wish list’ basket.” |

I just don't see it happening at these prices. 20K registrations even at $130 a piece is a huge failure and a big ass flop. He would need several hundred thousand registrations to create hype. That isn't going happen. Feel sorry for you that you going to piss away $2600 for nothing. |

Dude fuck that, I'm not spending 300 then. I can buy a better .com for 300$.

*Don't fall for the marketing hype, .xxx domains are for suckers

I hope some morons buy the .xxx extensions of our domains so we can grab the type in traffic from people mistakenly typing in the dot com. This is such a dot con it's not even funny. Just a lazy money grab. Pathetic.

nah never mind!
|
They are that expensive? What a scam.
If .XXX had any value, they would sell sex.xxx, not keep it for themselves. But all you fools go ahead and buy thousands of xxx-domains. |
I'm not buying any .xxx domains.
btw: the defensive buying thing is a myth.... |
Only 300$,that is so cheap.

Pre-ordered Brazzers.xxx.

$75 - $300?? How the hell is that going to work, are they going to price url's differently? that isn't going to work.
I guess if you want to get in on the better names you must be willing to pay some assholes inflated price right off the bat. I just want my .com .xxx's. Probably just one even. edit: ok duh read the article. lol.. still absorbing my coffeeeeee! bulk pricing, whatdyaknow Quote:
