Looks like there will be more plane disruptions Icelandic ash could reach Scotland by Tuesday
Ash from an erupting Icelandic volcano could reach northern Scotland by Tuesday and parts of Britain, France and Spain by Thursday or Friday if the eruption continues at the same rate, airlines have been warned.
The warning is based on the latest five-day weather forecasts, but must be treated with caution because of the forecast period and the presence of different air currents from those prevailing at the time of last year's ash crisis, weather officials said. European authorities have said no disruption was expected to European or transatlantic airspace over the next 24 hours. The Grimsvotn eruption has already distributed ash over farmland and closed Iceland's main airport, which is about 30 miles from the capital Reykjavik. The country's civil aviation authority confirmed a no-fly zone has been designated for 120 nautical miles in all directions from the eruption. http://news.uk.msn.com/articles.aspx...ntid=157719454 |
