Going Adult > Mainstream, Do You Think "They" Dont Like Us?

I remember years ago back when meanstream peeps would try to break into adult, it would get on my nerves. Mainly because they thought it was a gold mine and easy to do, and I would hear this from others, "just stay in mainstream."

I was reading around the other night on some forums and saw a thread about people bitching that we, from adult are now trying to venture into mainstream and going to fuck things up with our "bad" behavior and shady "adult" practices.

Doubting that is true, I do get the sense they are fearing that there is going to be more competition when a significant amount of people once making a living in adult now how to move into mainstream and competing with their sites.

Personally, I've always found mainstream to be "hush hush" unlike adult and seems rather difficult to find people willing to help you out to get off the ground. Think this will change as more of us move into this path or are these folks just getting their panties in a twist over nothing?

Trust me. The "mainstream" Internet commerce space is far more scummbaggery than adult ever was. Especially with the way the surfer is tossed around like a rag doll, including all his/her personal info.

Adult does the same stuff... and then will charge your card a lot.

You could try real mainstream like local business, not IM slimeball scams.

The IM niche in mainstream is worse than adult. A lot of other mainstream stuff is real nice, though.

It's also really not hard to find people willing to help you out in mainstream if you have a good idea or are offering something awesome.

That is bullshit. I do mainstream and can say it with authority that some mainstream promoters are WAY WORSE than adult. Don't let self-righteous ass clownery discourage your from doing well in mainstream.

If you need mainstream content, hit me up for the hook up!

Much like adult, mainstream noobs are taken as slow moving easy targets.

Actually a thread where you're getting put down as a newbie is much safer then a thread where everyone is offering hugs'n'kisses, helpful newbie tips, helpful newbie advice, etc.

It's much easier to get across the creek once you know where the rocks are at :upsidedow

:2 cents:

Well, it actually was a gold mine, and their instinct was correct. :winkwink:

Right, there are a lot of Adult webmasters who are trying to venture in mainstream and have no fucking idea where to start, they are completely lost. And there is not even one thread in the whole forum talking about anything worth a try in mainstream, the level of clueless info here is incredible.

And you are right, Mainstream people are completely aware of what is happening in adult and that a lot of adult webmasters are going broke because they cannot sell shit because everything is free... I don't think mainstream people are more hermetic, because I have found some good info on mainstream forums to make some bucks, but I think that mainstream people doing big bucks are not sharing their info anywhere.
