To me the clubs on the Strip all suck. Way overpriced, and then once you wait in line and finally get in...there's actually nothing happening in them. Just a big crowd of people slammed in like sardines and everyone kinda waiting for something to happen.

But nothing ever does. Just a DJ playing music, bad service, and $10 beers.

With that said...I'm going to see Paul McCartney at the MGM Grand tonight. And since I'm a local, I'll probably shoot over to the RIO and drink at any bar or club for half price.

There is hot pussy at every club in town (except the gay ones lol). So I can cavort with young hot bitches at the pool bar on top of Binions (and drink cheap with a gorgeous view), or at Gold Diggers at The Golden Nugget (with a great balcony right over Fremont), or on top of the Rio at The Voodoo Lounge (breathtakingly beautiful)

Or you can go to clubs like Encore and Pure, etc on the strip and be shoulder to shoulder with nothing happening while you wait 30 minutes on your $15 mixed drink.

S5 is super slow. I test drove it and was not impressed at all.

WTF are you doing waiting in line in vegas? :winkwink: We'll wait at some off clubs, but anything major, give them a call first and take some friends. 10 people can burn over a 1000 at Rain from getting in the door to $10 drinks and tips. Take that same money, get $300 vip for everyone and bottle service the rest... same money spent, much less people to screw with, your own girl to wait on you, your own bouncer, you can get away with a lot more as well... it's totally worth it.

You're probably right. We do things on the spur of the moment instead of calling ahead and getting a table.
And even if I did, I like to bar hop before I settle down.

I've done the table service thing at TAO and Body English and Encore...but it was all too sterile and boring to me. I guess I just got used to being in clubs back in the day when a DJ would play the ass shakin' music for bitches to dance to...and then a rock band would hit the stage and perform. Then the DJ would play on the band breaks.

You won't be drinking at Voodoo lounge for half price, the local drink deal does not include voodoo, Ibar, Carnival world buffet bar, All American bar & grill bar. It only goes for the bars that are considered "Casino Bars"

Wrong. I was just there last night after we left the MGM. Had two beers and two shots at the IBar. My tab was $19.94

I showed them my total rewards card and my ID and told them I wanted the locals deal at The Rio. :)

By contrast...I had 2 screwdrivers at the MGM. My tab was $34!


I've also drank with it at The Masquerade Bar back in Feb.

I was told by the folks at The Rio that it works in every bar on the property. Also works for a discount at the Rio Buffet.

Sometimes I like to pay extra for ambience.... it can be worth it robbie...

The MGM at the Centrifuge Bar where I overpaid for two screwdrivers is okay. The bartender girls are pretty covered up in their outfits.

By contrast the IBar at The Rio (where it was a $19.94 tab) has music pumping and hot girls in tiny white thongs and bras dancing on table tops all around the bar and is much nicer than Centrifuge.

Don't get me wrong...out of the casinos on the strip, the MGM is pretty awesome. But the prices on drinks are just stupid.

And I don't like hanging anywhere too long. So calling ahead to get a table and sit all night at Studio 54 wasn't on my agenda last night. heh-heh

We went to the Paul McCartney concert (which was fucking awesome!), then hit the Centrifuge bar to have a drink while we waited for traffic out of the MGM to clear up a bit.

Then we hit the Ibar at The Rio for drinks.

Then we went to this big ass pool hall on Sahara and did some quick power drinking (at real world prices) and then partied at The Green Door until 3:30 in the morning.

And The Green Door is definitely a place with some "ambiance" heh-heh

The first thing I do in a club is look for the exit. Hate being packed in there with music so loud I cant talk to anyone and like everyone already said, too crowded and overpriced. VIP service or not (I've done that many times) I simply do not want to be there. I only go if a business associate is really pushy about it or if its a rare special occasion, and I stay only as long as I have to.

Very interesting... BTW Masquerade bar is considered a "Casino bar" Yes you do receive a 50% discount off at carnival world buffet food ONLY. Someone in F&B is putting out the wrong info, I will address that Monday..

I'm with Robbie on this. I never got the whole waiting in line for hours to enter a club especially in Vegas where there are infinitive options to have a good time. I don't like to schedule my entertainment, thus I rarely make use of "vip" services and any kind of reservations, unless I have guests.

Well, tonight I'm gonna go Old School. We're gonna head over to Fremont and drink up and down the street. They have live bands playing on stages up and down the old strip there. And probably end up at Gold Diggers at The Golden Nugget watching the girls shake their ass. :)

You live in MDR, and you want to go to a club in Vegas? There are loads of clubs in LA in general, and plenty of good ones on the West Side... why would you feel the need to drive nearly 300 miles to Las Vegas? My favorite local bar/club is BarCopa on Main Street, in Santa Monica. I scored two out of the last three times I went there, and I'm not the best looking guy on the planet.

I will try Barcopa..... I like the clubs on mainstreet.... small but fun and lots of eyecandy..

Last night we went to Fremont St.
Ended up having to park a few blocks away because it was so packed.

There were three different bands playing on 3 stages at different blocks on Fremont. And it was "80's week" so everything was themed to the 1980's (music, costumes, etc.)

It was a blast!

First thing I did was walking from the parking lot we walked through the California club and grabbed a couple of $2.75 beers. That's a price I don't mind paying.

We left around 2:30 a.m., drank beers and shots all night, saw all kinds of crazy shit, watched bands, hit all the old casinos up and down the street...
spent less than a hundred bucks combined and had a great time!

Last night I won $1300 at blackjack, pai gow, and slots, got drunk for free, watched an 80s cover band, and then went midnight bowling.

Clubs are kind of stupid :winkwink:
