How profitable is it to setup a webcam studio now?
 

I was drinking with a friend last night and joking about how I wanted to set up a webcam studio 3 years ago. He has friends in Costa Rica and he go all excited saying he should set one up there.

Last time I checked it looked like central/south american girls (I was looking at Brazil) speaking broken english would probably average having a paying client 35% of the time and the probably be billing for $3.50 a minute but giving the website half.

Can anyone tell me how these numbers have shifted over the last 3 years? Thanks

Definitely missed the boat on that one. We looked into doing it in Costa Rica 4 years ago, and decided that the poor work ethic combined with shitty english wouldn't work. I know someone who did start a studio there 2 years after, and they didn't make anything.

With the right girls and management... It's just harder now and a shitload of work.

Could someone please post a few average statistics for a south american studio (english 2nd language).

There's no such thing as an "average" number that makes any sense for such a specific business with such vague parameters. You may as well ask on a restaurant forum how much money an "average" pizza place in a strip mall can earn in profit in a month. Most of them go out of business pretty quickly,a whole bunch more hang on barely making anything, a few do okay and a small handful are wildly successful.

It's hard as shit, and don't open anywhere in Asia. You can't even have good business going anymore because of all these fucking governmental laws. I hate this fucking world in this state of mind!

You definitely don't want to depend on Ticas for your income or anything outside of making rice and beans, really.

A high quality model from US will convert around 60-75% (in privates) on the best network (SM).... International model with broken english lucky to convert around 30%... but depends on lots of diff factors.
