What kinda cool stuff can I do with it?

Not much unless you are into component level electronic repair or testing. Some of those things are worth a lot of money. Maybe sell it and buy something you can have fun with.

the first "video game" were 2 dudes in the army playing a really backwards version of Pong on an oscilloscope, so if you're into oldschool gaming... :)

I have a couple of scopes, what model is yours? you can look at alternating current if it tickles you.

It says Techtronx dsa70804 on the front. It's got lots of knobs and switches. Maybe I can build me a rocket ship and go to the moon.

Hook up a mic to it... other than that I don't see many other cool uses for it...

We used to fuck around with those things in Physics Club. It was lots of fun to make the wave patterns, but I'm goddamned if I ever knew what I was doing.

I had no idea it was worth that kinda money. I did some house work for this old woman neighbor . When it came time to collect, she was piddling around in the garage. She paid me and then asked me if I wanted it. It belonged to her husband who died about 6 months ago. She had no freaking idea what it was worth. Neither did I.

Fuck, I feel like I just hit the lottery.

I am a ham radio operator and that kind of scope
is great for microwave work and high frequency stuff.

Really the right thing to do is notify her of what she
was not aware of. Otherwise someone in her family may
bring it up and she may find out on her own.

You're all gay. I made an oscilloscope when I was 10 years old. I took the coil off of the picture tube of an old TV but didn't disconnect it. I then slid a second coil on to the picture tube. I then connected the vertical coil to the left channel of a stereo, and the horizontal coil to the right channel of a stereo.

Result? Cool dancing, wiggling, circular and other shaped real-time 2 dimensional waves moving in sync to music. Here's what it looked like.
