It boils down to the desire of most folks that want to be sold on something they are already per-disposed to believe and that they want to believe.
With any get-rich scheme people want you to tell them it is possible for them to make millions of dollars with little or no work. Even if your honest and tell them making millions wouldn’t be a typical result, and to make the most out of it you really have to work hard the customer's complain because they wanted to be millionaires with little or no work.
Somewhat Ironically you see the same kind of thinking with the GF sites that feature stolen amateur content. What the customer really wants to see is someone that looks like his Neighbor’s 15 year old daughter naked even though he knows such a thing would be illegal. The customer's decision to purchase is based solely on the idea that the GF site might be able to deliver on its implied promise of delivering forbidden fruit. It sells in the age of tubes because the big tubes don't deliver this forbidden fruit.
