good eye on the couch Elli :winkwink:

i was thiinking the same, a gel and wall paper, but look at the light switch cover on the right side in the pic below, the design goes right across it. could that still be wallpaper or maybe a gel cutout or something?

If the pattern was a projection, it would be warped and faded the further it got from the light source. I think it might be uv-sensitive stickers or paint.

I had that exact couch. Could never get the slipcover to fit just right, just like in the picture. :)
As a matter of fact, I also have almost those exact shoes...

:1orglaugh sounds like you're ready for a photo shoot ASAP!

yeah, i was thinking the same with a projection distorting, but i've never seen wallpaper with patterns that big, have you?

I know you can order stickers like that, and just put them over whatever. They're mostly for putting on windows.

umm, that's bad ass and prolly harder to set-up than i can imagine. i bet it could work in the above application if you can get enough space between the model and the wall the image is projecting on eh, set-up the projector behind the couch, beaming directly square onto the wall. still have to cut the graphics and such, there's got to be a lot of work that went into that background.

i think it looks spectacular and completely subtle really.

i like that shade a lot and want to go that route but i want some color, am thinking a orange/red brick color for this sofa configured with a chaise. the room has a brick wall.

Its probably a leko - source 4 light. You can project any pattern with them.

Gutted for you bro :( Its amazing how many models in this industry don't make appointments...

@ dyna mo, looking at those sockets, I reckon thats a projector behind the sofa aiming at a white backdrop.

thank you for the input, fellas. :thumbsup i'll do some googling in this direction.

dyna mo 06-16-2011 04:54 PM

interesting how much light is reflecting back, under the sofa, see pic below. does this coincide with a projector behind the sofa or perhaps a stage light with a couple of colored gels with patterns cut out of them placed in front of the lamp?

ok, check this out, it's called an led gobo projector, designed to put patterned gobos in front of the beam, you can see a gobo in there now, i bet they've got one of these behind the sofa, found this looking up those lights jay allen mentioned.

CYF 06-16-2011 05:25 PM

haven't you guys been in a college dorm room?

If you paint on the walls with laundry detergent it won't show up in daylight, but gets illuminated with a blacklight.

That's what it looks like to me.
