Refurbished iMac system?

Anyone ever purchased a Refurbished Mac? Example imac, macbookpro etc.

Did you have any issues?

Hi, got a refurbished imac, 1.9 ghz long time ago, and no issues. Although I felt alot better knowing that the store I bought it from, was owned by one of my friends. Regardless, it lasted for 3 years and I traded that one in on the current quad imac i have.

Hey Zorgman check out New Wave Systems

http://www.newwavesystems.com.au/nws/home.html

They have great deals on ex corporate and refurbished Macs.

We often buy from them for our general office Macs as we don't always need the latest system for our internal office stuff. Always had good support from them.

AdultKing, I was going to buy my imac online from apple.com.au they have a nice 27" i7 at the moment for $1800.

Ok, well buying from Apple is the same pretty much as buying a new system, you get a warranty, it's safe and the systems are excellent value.

I have decided to go with a new machine. It's $700 more but i'm not waiting around for a 2011 model to show up, it could take months.

No. I have only bought one - an iMac. I bought it new, direct from the Apple store just over a year ago...

Been SO pleased with it, I consider it to be worth EVERY Penny...

When I want another in a few years, I will just get another brand new one.

Well I did a back flip. I got a Imac 27" Refurbished i7/2.93GHz/4GB ram/1TB/1GB graphics.
Saved myself $800. I figure I don't need thunderbolt just yet. Maybe 6 months when they get some more hardware for it.

Depending upon what you are doing, you may not need thunderbolt at all. We run a NAS as storage seperate from all of our Macs. Unless you need the speed for video then you are probably better off getting a NAS and centralizing and making your data redundant than to connect external devices to the Mac.

I got a replacement for my old Macbook and it was a refurb. They gave it to me as a replacement even though my old one was way out of Warranty. No issues at all. Had they not told me it was a refurb, I would not have known.

I have Thunderbolt on my Macbook Pro and haven't had any use for it yet.

Im not a believer in buying refurbished anything... but if its a Mac and you dont mind other peoples stuff... I'd go for it.. MACS are solid. Go Apple!

I finally got my imac today, this keyboard is tiny and it's going to take some time before I can use it correctly but im loving the screen and mouse.
