Do you have to pay to go to the rubbish dump

One of our TVs died so I thought I would take it down the tip as it was a pretty big one to just put into the bins

I first drove into the wrong entrance when I got to the rubbish tip. Then this big guy comes up to me as im getting out of the car and say "Have you paid your £2.00 entrance fee"

I said "no" I have never paid to tip rubbish before. After paying the guy he gave me a reciept and asked me to go out the correct way lol

No wonder people flytip here in the UK now

Yeah most tips are now called recycling plants, where it all goes I have no idea

If you were dumping using a van or a truck then you do have to pay a yearly fee or something I think over here in the UK

But this is the first time I have had to pay £2.00 to dump a TV

For dropping off TVs and electronics stuff it's free to us.

Also, twice a year - once every spring and once every fall - they have a special pick up site for local residents, and both times I fill up our truck and run with it.

This was in Somerset and is a commerical waste. When I asked why I had to pay because iv never paid before, he said it was because of the locals not wanting the site where it is or some crap like that

In Canada where I am we have to pay, they used to have the spring and fall cleanouts for the city , but they stopped it.:disgust

Weigh vans in and out here then charge the difference.

Cars are free. Can get a lot of shit in the back of a knackered old estate car too...

2 free trips to the dump a year w/residence

more= $14 per cubic yard

1 cubic yard = 764.554858 liters

idtapdat 07-18-2011 08:26 AM

its free unless its certain crap like roofing and drywall then you gotta take it somewhere else and pay

RebelR 07-18-2011 08:28 AM

yup.. I live in the country, so we are used to it. Just recently got curbside pick up. $1.75 a bag. Or if its a large farm clean up, I load up the trailer, and its $90 per tonne. Mind you, electronics, tires, and batteries are free.

Chris 07-18-2011 08:32 AM

at our local dump you get 150lbs of free a month and then its 5$ for every 50lbs
