POLL: Mac Users - Upgrading to Lion?

I am not intending to, (at least not straight away) as what I have works perfectly, and as such, if it aint broke - Dont fix it!

I may upgrade in about 6 months if I feel there would be a real benefit to me...

But what about you?

CYF 07-20-2011 10:50 AM

I'll be upgrading this weekend when I have some free time.

I will be upgrading all 6 working Macs here at my house. Can't beat a $30 upgrade.

I dont use my Mac that much anymore other than casually on my laptop. not worth the $$ right now as I need to fix up my PC that I use on daily for biz

Question to all those upgrading....

Are you 100% sure that ALL your stuff will still work, immeaditly after you perform your upgrade?

To me, its seems an over confidence in apple... I mean, they are good - But ultimately, only human... Mistakes can still happen

I did upgrade 40 minutes ago.

Everything looks fine, except:
Disk Order - crashes on start,
my old DreamWeaver 8 & FireWorks 8 & Flash 8 not working anymore - no PowerPC support in Lion

its a very slow download!

Exactly my point... I am not sure yet if the legitimately paid for, yet older versions, of everyday programs, are still gonna work :)

Also, I need powerpc for my (very much loved) M.A.M.E. installation :)

Oh what the hell it's already out.. they didn't send me an email.

Upgrading now :)

DamianJ 07-20-2011 12:11 PM

You don't need rosetta for mame it runs natively now

http://mameosx.sourceforge.net/

Lion has been in beta for about 2 months so everyone could make all the programmes work.

Everything is fine. Come on in, the water's lovely.

Well, look at all the new features and see if you want them.

Mail is *MUCH* improved, the launchpad is cool, iOS like typing correction as you type across everything is super cool, and, as I said, the integration of gestures is just brilliant. I'll never use a mouse again!

They don't make it easy to buy the damn thing.

First I click it and is says my account is locked. So I go through the process of unlocking it.

Then I try and buy it, enter my billing information, then it says ToS has been changed. So I accept the new ToS, and it stops my order.

Lets hope attempt number 3 at purchasing will be successful T.T

Edit: Actually I'm confused. There's an icon that says OS X Lion -- Downloading... but I never got a purchase confirmation and when I click the icon nothing loads. I guess I'm meant to buy it again? Buying shit from Apple is so fucking complicated

Edit #2, ok, the damn icon doesn't load anything but when you click "Purchased" it shows you the status :)
