can you rent a car and drive out of country and back?
I want to rent a car from enterprise... because I get a 20% discount.
I want to drive from buffalo new york, through canada, and enter back in the US via Port Huron Michigan. I know I can call enterprise, but, what the hell? I wondered if anyone has ever tried this? Im sure theres probably insurance problems. Maybe even gps on the vehicles. |

id ask i think they have un limited miles on some vehicles
Enterprise - maybe - "Some offices will allow their vehicles to cross international boundaries. Please contact the office that you plan to rent from to see if they allow their vehicles to cross into another country. You can find an office phone number at www.enterprise.com." |

usually im not the type of person to ask gfy for anything, because 9 times out of 10 someone wants to be a comedian. But in this case enterprise chat doesnt open till 9am my time and my cell is in another room and Im just too lazy to go get it. |

Maybe I could take a russian taxi but then i might have to ask eric to let me change my nic again. cosmonaut x just doesnt have the same ring to it though. |
Did it many times in Europe. Usually you pay a bit extra if you want to take it to other countries so the insurance is valid everywhere. Not sure how it works in US/CA but I'm sure it can be done.
In EU you can even rent it in one country and leave it in another country. |

I don't think they will care especially since you are ending up in the US again, they might try to sell you additional insurance.

Shouldn't be a problem. You can't rent a car in the US and drive it to Canada if your Canadian from what I understand though. But you can rent a car in Canada and drive it to the US if your Canadian.

i am pretty sure you can.. heard of a lot of people who rent to drive into the states
probably extra insurance |
Im from Massachusetts. My daily driver gets 13.8mpg. So as you can imagine I don't take it on long road trips. Every time I go to Montreal I rent. They never ask me where I'm headed and I never volunteer the information.

Yes I drive across usa canada border in rentals all the time. Especially when filming content

the rental places near the airports typically don't care. The ones further from the airport usually put restrictions like that on the rental. Last time I went to Canada I was asked at the border on the way back to the us "who's car is this?" It was mine. I don't know if they don't like rentals or something.
