UK living
Hello UK people,
I want to be realistic, can you tell me , on average, what would be a living cost in UK Midlands. So far I have figured out housing J450-J600pcm for 3 bedroom house. What about: 1) Gas 2) Electricity 3) Council tax?? 4) Internet 5) tv 6) food for 4 7) public transport ( bus? ) monthly pass 8) chinese/indian/sushi eating out 9) Small car 5 year old ( like Vauxhall ) cost and insurance 10) Bottle of beer You name it what I missed :) Thank'Ya! |
£175 pw is basically the poverty line so work your way up from there.
TV License was about £150 per year last time I checked. |
If you are a hard worker, in the UK, that is trying to make an honest living for yourself, and paying taxes... Your fucked...
But, if you wanna be a waste of space, stick a needle in your arm, and do drugs... The council pay for it all... |

Most of the nicest places in the UK have no jobs, so one of the greatest things about working online is that you can go and live in some obscure cheap place that has no jobs, but does have beautiful scenery and a low crime rate, while everyone else has to head off to the slums |

3 bedroom house with garden, unfurnished, very nice area, but only low paid tourist jobs = £550 per month.
Will be different to that in the cities |

There is a valid reason and i'm trying to figure out things. I found UK buses and trains pretty good, may be because I live in a shit hole myself.

Where I live isn't boring, lots to do here. I know other parts of Wales are very quiet and some people will find that boring. I've lived all over the UK, moving every few years. London, Liverpool, Cambridge, Milton Keynes etc and so far this is by far the best place I've found, especially to bring up a family |
The standard of living and quality of life in the UK is crap, compared to most other european countries at least.
But I am sure you know that already so good luck. As mentioned above you might be underestimating the housing cost, or overestimating the area those prices are quoted in. I paid at least 300 pounds for a shitty little room in a shared house as a student and that was about 7 years ago. And by shitty I mean damp, Victorian Age brick housing the interiors redone with what seemed to be plywood and mdf, which is pretty common I fear. |

It's no shock to see another immigrant making a beeline for the midlands. I was born there and lived there for 30 odd years before i decided to get the fuck out of the shithole. |
