Mass Murders Across the U.S. WTF?

http://news.yahoo.com/gunman-kills-s...035211015.html
http://news.yahoo.com/three-dead-sho...201200423.html
http://news.yahoo.com/several-injure...021011416.html

granted the last one apparently 8 injured, no deaths but the insanity is the same.

WTF? Is it the heat?

seeandsee 07-24-2011 10:41 AM

In Norwey it was because NATO claim killer advocate...

brassmonkey 07-24-2011 10:41 AM

Agent 488 07-24-2011 10:41 AM

did read a study once where excessive heat did make people's brains literally boil (i think) and people were more violent and erratic.

it could be. excessive lingering heat across the u.s. must have an adverse effect.
the two murder sprees were in texas and arizona, both apparently "domestic disputes."

the seattle auto show incident, who knows. the gunmen are still at large apparently.

and i know shit like this happens in the u.s. off and on, but these 3 incidents are within 2 days of each other which is pretty amazing.

Caligari 07-24-2011 11:14 AM

there are numerous articles on how excessive heat adversely affects the brain-

and of course the correlation between high temps and increase in crime.

Low Rider show in the Seattle area....I'm gonna have to go with Asian for that one.

Motorcycle Rally in AZ was probably a white thang.

Texas Roller Rink was probably a white guy too.

Or maybe the media starts covering it nationally more?

I can think of local/regional multi-shootings that have never been covered by national news. It would be interesting to see some actual numbers on that.

i think i heard this morning one of these was a kids birthday party. :helpme

Rochard 07-24-2011 04:37 PM

Makes you wonder, doesn't it?

I think a certain percentage of society operates at a level that is less than average. They look normal, and act normal, yet the truth is they are unable to make a proper decision. I have a friend like this. He's had a dozen operations on his skull, and now he's pretty much slightly mentally retarded. He's so fucked up that he is no longer allowed to have a debit account, credit card, or a checking account - savings only.

That's not even the worse of it. We are handing over keys automobiles to people who cannot balance a checkbook.

Again, let's use my friend as an example. He drives a big honking pick up truck, and in the past year he's had three accidents. He claims they weren't his fault and that he was rear ended. But ten minutes as a passenger in his truck tells me all I needed to know - He tailgates, doens't have the stopping power he needs, stops shorts, which causes others to rear end him.

Seattle, its the perpetual rain. I should know, I live here. I once threw my rolex at another car in traffic. Fortunately the window was only partially bad and my aim is bad.

There are also billboards here about some disease or condition that affects people in the pacific northwest more than anywhere else in the country. I forget what it was for.

All these people combined got nothin on that dude in norway.

On a side note, I'm surprised / disapointed that nobody in the texas incident pulled on him and shot him in retaliation? I guess he killed himself, and could have done it in his home or something.

ajrocks 07-25-2011 06:01 AM

Is the Asian population high in that area??

Where is there even a comparison? This has nothing to do with Oslo, this is 3 mass shooting incidents which occured within about a 36 hour period of time in the U.S.

Hey guess what, that dude in Norway got nothin on Tim McVeigh. Get it?

it's called 'low IQ' and unfortunately that is illegal to point out or make any social decisions /distinctions on. it's okay for some people to run faster, jump higher or have better rhythm but it's not okay for anyone to be smarter :2 cents:

The roller rink was asian guy named Tan Do.

It's a frightening world to be raising a child.
I still can't get over what happened to that poor Brooklyn boy.

MediaGuy 07-25-2011 08:36 AM

There must be stats somewhere, but I'm guessing this happens regularly but we don't hear about it except locally.

The national media would definitely have to go on a "WTF" rationalization spin cycle if the started reporting them all...

.

JamesGw 07-25-2011 08:37 AM

I think there are a combination of factors involved, most of which people have already brought up. Heat, economic problems, and additional national coverage have probably all contributed to the (real and perceived) increase in mass shootings.
