8 Years Later....

This court ruling occurred in 2003. In a nutshell it states that the media can just make up news however they like - even if it is all completely fictitious...

And 8 years later, hardly anyone even knows about this.

This is why the general populace will fail...

Solid fucking apathy! :(

What's the big surprise... Where has it ever been law etc. that the media, or anyone for that matter, had to tell the truth about anything... The only issue is if they lie and it causes damage, they can then be sued.

That's pretty insane, but I think things have been like that the entire time. You can get in trouble for defamation, but that actually requires someone to sue you.

Why are you acting like this is something new? There has NEVER been anything in law that says that news must be true, and there have been thousands of untrue news story's over the last hundred plus years, from every source. The only restriction is when harm is caused to someone and then the news agency can be sued. You act as if some floodgate had suddenly been opened. Try taking a look at newspapers activities from the 1900s onward.....

Fox and Rupert Murdoch have definitely poisoned the kool aid - more than anyone in the past, even COINTELPRO - and many (most?) now drink it down.

It's easier to believe lies and follow along than to think for yourself and end up having differences, arguments and fights with friends and family and being held at arms' length by them.

:D
