Worst pain you've endured?

Long story short, I was sucker punched by a girls ex-b/f while out downtown drinking. Ended up connecting with a jab before shooting a double leg takedown, ended up in side control, 3-4 punches later he was unconscious and I look at my right hand to see this

http://a6.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._3258450_n.jpg
This was after chunks of his tooth were removed from my hand.

I was stiched up, given pain killers and sent on my way.

Fast forward 72 HORRIBLE hours later, the wound burst open, due to pressure from the puss in my hand. It had become infected, I was rushed to a hand specialist to undergo surgery the next day. I over heard one of the surgeons say "Well we'll see if he can keep his middle finger, we might have to amputate it". One of the worst days in my life.

One month later after having to take THE WORST antibiotics that made me feel like I had a hangover from drinking well liquor and also having to pack my own wound, this was the result

All the credit goes to my physical therapist who never once gave up hope that my hand would be at 100% again one day. I can say it will never be the same as it was before the injury, but I'm at a solid 95%.

Tooth necrosis ...

Harmon 07-29-2011 10:11 AM

The worst pain I ever had is when "SHE" left me. Your bumps and brusies will never compare to the emotions beating I took.

PS> I am naked IRL

Babaganoosh 07-29-2011 10:14 AM

What were you watching on Hulu? Is that fucking Thundercats?

rogueteens 07-29-2011 10:14 AM

Having a tooth removed without any anesthetic. The closest i've ever come to fainting.

LOL, I wish. It was an episode of Naruto Shippuden... Flame away.

CurrentlySober 07-29-2011 10:19 AM

I had a bike crash, aged 17... Cut all my arm open..
That was MY worst pain...

Yngwie 07-29-2011 10:20 AM

That does look painful.

For me the worst pain I ever dealt with was when a spray pay can exploded.. Flame was roughly 6 feet wide by 3 feet high. Burned my face, arms and chest. (wasn't wearing a shirt when this happened)

It was a real motherfucker.

PR_Glen 07-29-2011 10:21 AM

yeah best not to be punching at the teeth... i got a gash on my left which reminds me...

Tom_PM 07-29-2011 10:22 AM

Hmm.. that looks nasty.

Heart attack was pretty bad pain. So was infected tooth I had pulled on christmas day one year.

Failed 07-29-2011 10:24 AM

Worst pain that I've ever dealt with was a herniated disc that ruptured, with a piece breaking off and lodging against the nerve in my spine. I couldn't do anything but lay on the floor in constant pain, 24 hours a day, until my surgery 4 months later. No amount of pain killer could stop nerve pain, not even injections from pain management specialists. I would never wish the pain on anyone, and every day after my successful spine surgery has been a gift.

I use to work in a foundry and burned my face, neck, back and arms. Second degree, that came with having the dead skin scrubbed off of the burns every week. This was nothing compared to the pain above, to put it in context.

dang these aren't the middle ages anymore, why would you have a tooth removed without anesthetic?

Spunky 07-29-2011 10:33 AM

Looks painful,I currently have calicific tendentious in the right shoulder for about the 5th time,I squeal like a piglet trying to move my arm

Nice time to read this while eating lunch, but that wound looks disgusting. Good thing you're healing quite well.

Thanks mate! If only we could turn back the hands of time, but we can't, all we can do is learn from our mistakes and try to become a better person because of it. Cheers!

_Richard_ 07-29-2011 10:39 AM

had nipple rings as a kid, went to the beach and got some sand in it

long story short thought it was infected so took the ring out, trapping the sand inside

had to take a taper (tapered metal rod) through the very infected piercing

oddly enough, while this hurt like nothing else at the time, waht hurt more was getting that nipple repierced

dgraves 07-29-2011 10:39 AM

the pain of regret...

waltgator 07-29-2011 10:41 AM

thats awesome! glad its healing well! cool pics !:thumbsup

Hey Failed, I know what you mean. I avoided surgery at all costs as I was only 27 when this happened.

I had 2 badly herniated discs (L4-L5, L5-S1) that were on the verge of rupturing. The pain it causes all the way thru your body is insane. The body can only handle so much pain in one location at a time that it defers pain to other area's that are connected to those nerves. For me, it was deferred to my testicles. By far the worst pain I've ever endured. For minutes on end it would feel like someone was stabbing my nuts with a pin and then stopping. Only to start again 5 minutes later!

I was seeing so many doctors (urologists) and being tested for all types of testicular cancer, cysts, the whole nine. Finally I found a doctor (chiropractor) that works extensively with herniated discs. I was on a traction machine 2 days a week for 30 min a pop... This isn't your ordinary chiropractor though, they don't crack and twist your spine. They work with your C1 vertebra to align your atlas and your spine. It's amazing. The pain in my testicles went away due to the nerve relief from my back/spine. It's like living a whole new life again!

Brent 3dSexCash 07-29-2011 10:46 AM

finger nail ripped off. i couldn't see straight for 15 minutes.

mountainmiester 07-29-2011 10:46 AM

I removed my own gal bladder without anesthesia so I could be alert during the procedure.

OK, that's a load of shit cause the Ingrown Toenail I had removed by a crappy country doctor doesn't sound very exciting, though the pain was insane a few hours after he did it.

crak_max 07-29-2011 10:52 AM

tattoo on the elbow .. i never had a serious injury ;)

96ukssob 07-29-2011 10:53 AM

I had a cyst on the end of my tail bone that I had to have taken out years ago. required some surgery and they put some drainage tube thing near the top of my ass... pretty fucking sick.

Anyway, I had to take meds for a few days because the incision was so close to my asshole that they didn't want it to break... basically had the shits for a week. Went back, got checked out and stitches removed but had to take an MRI of my lower intestine to make sure everything was ok, so I had to drink a gallon of barium (gross silver think drink).

Later that day I had to shit and FUUUUUUUUUUUCK it hurt so bad, felt like my insides were tearing and someone was reverse raping me with a telephone pole. I was so scared I didn't know what to do because I didn't want to take any meds thinking it would push it out harder, so I sat, cried and pushed for a while... so long my mom knocked on the door and asked if everything was alright. :1orglaugh:1orglaugh

I then knew what it was like to give birth :thumbsup

knee reconstruction, body rejected pain meds 1st day after surgery

Awesome stories.

Worst pain I ever endured was when I went diving and was stung by a pretty big jellyfish. Wrapped around my right forearm. Was able to get it off and swim back to shore as quickly as I could.

I was still in the water when I was looking at my arm and I actually saw the skin moving, the pain was alright at that time.

Got out the water, told the diving school and some surfers what had happened, pain was pretty bad at this time.

Pissed on my arm, didn't help for SHIT. Some guy went to cut open a cactus for fresh aloe vera, didn't help.

All the while my arm keeps swelling up, open sores, it looked awful. They said they had seen jellyfish stings but nothing like this and I should go to the hospital.

Along the way the pain just gets worse and worse, as if I keep my hand in a campfire and just hold it in. I start screaming like a girl.

Get to the hospital, apparently I have second degree burns on my arm, it's swollen like shit. My vains turn black cause of the "venom" in the bloodstream. They gave me some way overpriced cream, wrapped me up and send me home. My vains stayed black for a few days (looked awesome), had open wounds, etc. etc.

All in all a cool story to tell though.

JamesGw 07-29-2011 11:14 AM

I've never been in any particularly bad pain. I guess the worst would be when I dislocated my shoulder, but that didn't really hurt much at all.

Rochard 07-29-2011 11:16 AM

Years ago I was shot, but that didn't hurt nearly as much as when I broke my little toe. That hurt like a mother fucker.

barcodes 07-29-2011 11:17 AM

I had wrecked my motorcycle due to rain and losing traction. Spiral fracture right next to my shoulder joint. I had never broken anything before and I told the paramedics it felt as if my arm was constantly falling (i don't really know how to explain this well, felt like my arm was sinking into the ground). They strapped me very tightly tightly into the gernie one at my legs the other at my chest pretty much on the break. He tied me in so tight i think because of my complaint of thinking my arm was falling. When I got to the hospital there were no rooms so I was forced to lie there in the hallway with the strap pretty much on the break for 2 or 3 hours until they had more room which sucked. After a bit I started begging the paramedic who I guess ad to stand with me until someone could see me to remove or at least loosen it but they couldn't due to their rules or whatever.

I haven't had too many bad injuries and I am sure this doesn't compare to most of your stories but I remember that not feeling very pleasant at all lol.The morphine, and later on viccoden they kept feeding me for the 7 or 8 days i stayed there made me forget about all of that though lmao.

CyberHustler 07-29-2011 11:18 AM

Physical pain, kidney stone.

Having to watch 'Glitter' while trapped in an airplane.

I have lost count of how many surgeries I've needed and gotten, but the most painful thing ever is reading the posts of Sally Rand, Paul Markham and gideongallery.

I crashed my motorcycle and broke my collar bone, but this was nothing compared to losing the function of my dominant hand for 2 months. I've never done any drugs other than smoked pot and mushrooms, so when I got the pain killers injected into my I.V, I finally realized what all the hype was about with opiates.

When I was 19 I had a cavity drilled. The denstist asked me if I wanted the anesthetic and me trying to look tough and shit in front of his hot female assistant said "No, I don't need that".

That was the worst pain I have endured.

I think it would be a tie for me. I had turf toe once which is where you destroy the capsule in your big toe. It hurt like hell and I was in a boot for about 2 months. Every step you take is effected and you can't even wipe you ass without pain.

The only other thing that would compare is recently I had some dental work done and it went bad. I had a root canal which wasn't terrible. However, a few days later I get an infection in that tooth. They give me antibiotics and I end up being allergic to them. I end up in the hospital dealing with the reaction to the antibiotics. They get that under control, but in the mean time I end up with a very nasty infection in that tooth. The pain was amazing. They gave me pain meds which helped, but it took about 72 hours to get everything under control and it was a rough 72 hours.

Gallstones, the painkillers did nothing to help so I flushed them out myself with a internet recipe.

I feel your pain! There is nothing quite like nerve pain, and there is nothing that can really be done for it. At best, pain killers mask a bit of it. Mine radiated through my lower back into my legs. I couldn't walk, stand, or sit. I could only lay on the floor.

I went to many doctors myself, which is why it took 4 months to finally get surgery. I saw a neurosurgeon who ran a lot of tests and finally found the broken disc lodged against my nerve. He removed a piece of my spin to get to the disc, so there is still pain at the surgical site, but nothing like it was before.

:thumbsup To our new lives!

I was eating a habenero pepper and sneezed the juice of it thru my nose, having staples put in my forehead was less painful

Sarah_Jayne 07-29-2011 01:34 PM

My tooth before my emergency root canal a couple months ago was pretty special. Also, my near burst appendix was glorious.

AnimeFevers 07-29-2011 01:57 PM

I almost died choking on my own puke, when you go out only looking to get absolutely shit faced make sure you have a bucket next to you and don't puke with your head facing the ceiling lol :D

DWB 07-29-2011 02:14 PM

Popped an ollie about 3 feet off the lip of a 15 foot tall half pipe. Somewhere up there I lost all balance and instead of falling to my knees and sliding out, I fell into the transition (15 + 3 = 18 feet high) and landed sideways, on leg down first, hyper extending my knee. It totally bent the wrong way, sideways, as far as it could go.

Oddly, it didn't break. But docs said it would have hurt less and recovered faster if if would have. The pain was almost unbearable.

I never fully recovered from that and still have some issues every now and then.

I have a friend who accidentally got some habenero juice in his eye. That did not look like a whole lot of fun.
