What's the easiest way to share files on your HD via the web?

I?m trying to show a bunch of files to a client and it will take days to upload all the information to my server. What?s the best way to share a folder on one of your hard drives over the internet? I don?t want the person to be able to do anything to the files just view them. Thanks in advance.

I was looking at that but I'm not sure if you can set permissions so the files can't be downloaded or messed with?

Sharing files is just that. Sharing them to be downloaded and "messed with".

Dropbox rules.

Ok I should have said "how can I select files to read only from my HD via the web" ;) Share was the wrong word.

I use dropbox with several of my clients when they need to give me pics, movies or logos for design. I'm just looking for a quick way to have someone view files from one of my hard drives. I searched around google but I didn't have any luck :(

Google Docs allows you to set permissions. But I believe that they have file type restrictions.

it sounds like you want to give people remote access from the web to your computer -
like PCAnywhere or GoToMyPC.com - maybe there's a way to restrict access to just one folder where u can move the files u want them to be able to view.

could set up an FTP server and have them directly download the files from your computer rather than you uploading to a web server.

Can something like this work? Not sure if you could use this but it might be worth taking a look at.

Here is what one viewer said about permissions in a review:
"You can set up different permissions for each folder by going to the web interface. The web interface comes up as completely open by default. You'll have to set up an admin password. You can create user accounts for each of the folders and specify under each folder if you want to secure it and which users to allow access to the folder. Creating/deleting folders is a snap as well (though folder names are limited). "

I don't know much about this option or if it will protect what you need to be protected, just figured i would throw it out there in case it proved to be useful.

Best of luck with it.
