The AVN awards and show still are taking place, yes??

The AVN show and awards are later in January this year, the 18th-21st. That's too late, IMHO. The business here in LA was pretty much closed down from the third week in December through the end of the AVN show, but moving the show to the third week of January means porn people will be partying for 5-6 weeks instead of the normal 3-4 weeks. That means lots of drama.

I don't like Vegas--I haven't been to an AVN show since 2006--and will probably check out the XBIZ extravaganza just to see what it's like.

Damn so Avn dropped back and Xbiz stepped in to early January? Bold move.

January is gonna be a busy month!

As a business show, XBIZ's move makes a lot of sense--it's at the same time as the AVN show was, it's close to the holidays, and it's in LA. I imagine AVN will lose all the geek traffic from the CES show, and that will hurt as the AVN show has been a fanfest for several years.

A bold and a smart move, I think.

Good move by XBIZ, AVN should just shut down the Jan show.
