Wow, some nice changes here! :thumbsup

I wouldn't necessarily call it another PR update. It seems to be a correction.

Google rolled out a PR update back in June/July (I forget), then rolled it back a week or two later. They've since rolled out this one, which is probably what the first one was supposed to be.

What I find interesting about this whole thing is that it seems to indicate that Google might not keep dynamic PR. The only reason for them to roll back the update otherwise would be if it was displaying the wrong algorithm, but that should be a simple fix if PR is really dynamically updated.

Google, then, might only update PR with its toolbar. That said, PR itself isn't a ranking factor. It's just a bench mark of some ranking factors, so I don't think it really matters anyway.

Laur1s 08-04-2011 01:28 PM

yep, it's... and I like results!

Tom_PM 08-04-2011 01:34 PM

Got some good ranks? Got a quality site? Trade or sell me a hard link :) Blatant spam sammich! With fries and a coke.

I've noticed google is so fluid lately, you can do a search and note results, then 5 minutes later refresh it and the entire result is shifted around. Almost like live updating.

WTF people with 15 days old domain got PR4 ??

I have a blog 2 months old with only 30 posts that just received a page rank of 3 :1orglaugh

djroof 08-04-2011 03:07 PM

yes changes here too ;)

sicone 08-04-2011 03:15 PM

WTF... Every site I have was dropped to a 0

Si 08-04-2011 03:30 PM

Just read something elsewhere. It was just someone else musing/thinking why this might be happening, and they said something like this:

Google could be trying to fish out blog networks.

I think it could make sense, if PRs keep changing they might be looking out for people changing links within networks or whatever and then punishing them.

Noticed some new PR6 domains (not mine) with lack of content and barely any incoming links to them. Weird.

AnimeFevers 08-04-2011 04:13 PM

Yep, just got a PR2 on a new mainstream site I bought a couple of days ago :D

chronig 08-04-2011 04:33 PM

I had an autoblog making 10-30$/day on adsense with 3,000-5,000 uniques/day, the past 3 days have been 200-300 uniques/day

The one you posted before? Get dropped again? :(

3xmedia 08-04-2011 05:11 PM

One of my friend's blog gets around 50k uniques from Google daily. Its PR dropped from a PR4 to a PR1 a month ago. Traffic is still the same. He has unique quality content and many legit incoming links. GTPR is fucked now, if you trade/buy links you better care about incoming links than GTPR.

V_RocKs 08-04-2011 05:22 PM

Shit that dropped for no fucking reason is back... I like.

V_RocKs 08-04-2011 05:25 PM

It is an update... I have sites that I built about 2 months ago to 1 month ago at PR1 now...

Now all my sites have their pr back... odd, maybe just a glitch when I checked

JohnRingo 08-04-2011 05:55 PM

PR changes frequently... it's not every 3 months or whatever anyone else is telling you...

it's constantly being evaluated as part of the logarithm

how do i know this?

i had a site that was PR 3 and I lost all of my content and had to redirect all 404 errors to another site... within a week my PR went down to 2... once i fixed in my PR was back up to 3 within another week...

so there... can we all please stop asking about PR updates, reallize PR doesn't not equal sales and talk about something freaking relevant

Yep, traffic dropped from 3-4k/day to 300/day... also went from PR0 to PR1 :1orglaugh

Yup, people usually don't understand the difference between PR and GTPR. PR is updated constantly, GTPR like 3-6 months.

epitome 08-04-2011 10:44 PM

I don't care anymore. The traffic from Google doesn't seem to coincide with PR.

I've had PR5+ mainstream blogs that got trickles of G traffic.

The only people that should care are those trying to sell links.

Avalana 08-04-2011 11:22 PM

from zero to one :x

Coup 08-05-2011 01:43 AM

Who gives a fuck about PR? :1orglaugh:1orglaugh

Since there are many link buyers that still think that high PR link = always high quality link.
