Greece Vacation - Pics

It's been a good time in Greece, as it always is. Add two weeks of sun, sea and mountains and it really makes it a bit harsh to get back to work and the busy life of the city. It's been a few days since we returned and i still have to force myself to even look at the PC, heh.

Here are some pics from the islands, Lefkada and Kefalonia.

P.S. Looking forward to the Prague event. Who's coming?

munki 08-06-2011 02:58 AM

Looking to go to a European captial in November some time... what's the christmas fair's like in Ro?

Goldmaniacs 08-06-2011 03:01 AM

Since all the economy shit that hit them many women have turned to the oldest profession to make ends meet. Spain and Italy to follow.

martinsc 08-06-2011 03:08 AM

It's a Sony HX5-V. The pics were made with the camera's built in panoramic shot.

I don't think they'll self-destruct, though they are not very optimistic about it either from what i've seen. However, i have the hope it'll all be ok afterall.

Let me know if you do decide to visit RO, it's a decent place, quite nice here and there. Depends how many beers you have on board, heh.

Dunno, don't think so for Greece. Do you have a source or is just you thinking out loud?

Heh, it's not that expensive, but i guess it depends where you're going, which islands. We had some great prices on these islands, can't complain really. Where do you usually go to or did you mean generally?

Ramirez 08-06-2011 04:12 AM

no not that expensive at all but much more than it used to be when it was the dracma lol and the sterling/euro exchange rate is much worse that it used to be as well, but it's still a cheap holiday. i've been to crete a few times which i really like, corfu and kos. we may well give kefalonia a try next time we go.

I don't know if you're asking or stating, but it's not that expensive, for example, for the hotel we paid 40 EUR per night with breakfast included and you can find much cheaper and also much more expensive, it all depends what you're looking for.

It depends where you travel from also, so the transportation may cost more or less.

strobi 08-06-2011 06:45 AM

Great pics! Was in Corfu a few weeks ago, loved it! Would love to see more of Greece...

Yeah, Corfu is nice as well from what i have heard, never been there yet though, but it's rather close to Lefkada, actually you can take the ferry from Igoumenitsa.

Here you go: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Myrtos_Beach

L.E. Quote from Wikipedia:
Quote:

Myrtos Beach (Παραλία Μύρτου) is situated in the region of Pylaros, in the north-west of Kefalonia, Greece. The beach is situated between the feet of two mountains, Agia Dynati and Kalon Oros (901m) . This can be seen in Google Maps [1]

Myrtos is world-famous for the magical colours of the water (from sky-blue to dark blue, green-blue and turquoise) contrasting with the bright white of the smooth marble pebbles from which it is formed.

In the evening when the sun is on the horizon, the water is tinted by magnificent colours, (red, yellow, purple, orange), as the sun disappears[2]. The location of the beach, with steep mountains and tall cliffs behind, is imposing and magical.

That's a nice video indeed, some great beaches in there. I see Myrtos is #3, Egremni seems like #2 and Porto Katsiki is #1 on their list.

Yeah, they are, especially in Thessaloniki. Now, of course, don't expect Russia or Ukraine, but Greek women are beautiful also.
