Would Jesus be a Republican or a Democrat?
Some of his parables sound pretty Democratic......;but, the Republicans claim to be his party.:1orglaugh
There was a certain creditor which had two debtors; the one owed five hundred pence, and the other fifty. And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Go home to thy friends; tell them how the Lord had compassion on thee, and shew them how great things God hath done unto thee. They need not depart; give ye them to eat. How many loaves have ye? Go and see. Let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it unto the dogs. |
neither. politics is for those less spiritually evolved. he would just laugh.
|
hehe it's interesting to think about, he would probably be a socialist... :)
|
Jesus would want Pontius Pilate to tax him out of his gourd and run every aspect of his life including the chariot companies and even the doctors? LOLZ.
|
Jesus would tell them both to fuck off. He'd probably even break modesty and use the word "fuck." That is how much he would dislike them.
|
I don't know.. he'd probably be whatever party makes empty promises and then leaves people for dead when shit gets heated.... Oh.. wait.. I know: BOTH TOP PARTIES IN THE STATES. I win. Where's my cheez mane
Would the traditional IDEA of jesus be an R or a D? No, he might be an r or a d. |

It would be interesting to ask Christ about the value of "charity" by force, taking something from the rightful owner and handing it to someone else, under threat of imprisonment of the person who made the thing didn't give it up. But what about the socialists?: Neither did we eat any man's bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you: .9 Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us. .10 For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat. |
neither. he viewed money as something bad and went against the establishment of the time
|
last study says he got loads of money
|
:1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaughAs the leader of Jesus' church, ask the Pope if money is bad.:1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh
|
He would support the Taliban.
They are the only group with Bronze age believes and a anti imperialist program ( anti Roman ) |

If forced to choose, he would be a Democrat.
The mindset of those who identify as Democrat is more closely aligned with the teachings of Christ than those who identify as Republican. - Help the needy - Anti war - Against the death penalty - Care for the environment If there is a God, it will surely be Republicans that fill the fiery pits of Hell. Just about everything they stand for is against the teachings of Christ. Then they go to church every Sunday to hear bastardized explanations of the bible designed to be in tune with their evil ways. |
what would saint paul do ?
|
Jesus was anti-government, and would probably be considered a terrorist by DHS.
|
To me, SHE seems to be a conservative who instead needs to be a Libertarian. I hope she damns all the brown-nosers right-wing radical Christians who try to force us normal folks into being like them:-(.

Leave it to the board rightwing nutjob to to type such idiocy. |
There is justice in the universe and its called karma. This is the fate of all greedy selfish republicans in their next incarnation on this planet that would rather cut social programs than to tax Exxon.....

what a stupid fucking question
|
Not really, a stupid question......
Since we are a Judeo-Christian society in terms of the basis for our moral/legal system, the political parties should be quite concerned with how the divine leader of the dominant religious sect would supposedly view their political platforms and actions. The question is quite to the point in evaluating whether the Republican and Democratic political parties are hypocrites, believers or merely deceivers. In our choices at the polls, we should try and chose those candidate that best represent our interests, our beliefs, and our hope for the future. In principle, much of which is riding on Jesus' teachings; and, whether or not, the respective political parties are in line with Jesus and/or our personal beliefs. I am personally interested in the opinions of all GFYers including yours. |

2. Anti-war --great idea! But it didn't work so well for the Brits after WWI. The "peace movement" resulted in virtual disarmament, which nearly gave Europe to Hitler decades later. 3. Against the death penalty --great idea! But I am still trying to figure out why.. 4. Care for the environment --great idea! But when left wing government creates a true conspiracy called "Global Warming" (now "Climate Change") and wants to tax US businesses right out of the country, killing jobs, I dunno. If Global Warming is so real, why all the instances of coordinated fraud in the "science" of it all? :helpme |

The answer depends on whether you mean George Bush jr. or Thomas Jefferson...
;D |
He'd be a libertarian and voting for Ron Paul, and a good GFY fellow
|
Jesus would be neither he didn't like the money changers so that leaves no money for the banks and that means no funding for politics so the correct answer is none of the above. but don't tell that to any politician they will deny it

Assuming Jesus appeared next to you (or any other conservative) and you shot back with these rebuttals to his teachings, what do you think would happen? Do you think he would change his mind or say that you are wrong? It has to be one of those two. Either you are right or Jesus is right. You have to pick one. And if the teachings of Christ are too outdated to apply to the US in 2011 as your response implies, then Republicans need to stop acting like the party of God. |

neither.. what did I win?
|
Forcibly take money with the power of government from people who work hard for their money --and give it to people who covet other people's wealth.
Sounds Christian to me. |

He would be the leader of his own party.

the answer can spin both ways. For example, helping the needy. Would he support 2 years of unemployment benefits, or would he think that the disincentive to find a job would hurt them? Further, would jesus prefer people helping the poor directly, or politicians helping them with other peoples money. |

Jesus was a long haired hippy who hung out with the homeless, hookers and wore sandals. What party does that sound like to you?
Christians(Republicans) seem to forgo his words and concentrate on the suffering he endured and generally tend to concentrate on the Old Testament |
I think he would just be Jesus.. The Son of God. :)
