Times of Domain Deletions
When a name is pending delete, after the approximate 6 day deletion process, how do the back order and and acquisition firms obtain the approximate time from the registry to begin sending their registration requests?
Does the registry freely hand out the approximate times to these firms only, or can anyone request such times? Does the registry use the same time for every domain, or is it random? Thank you for the help! |
Drops start at 11 AM Pacific Time for .COM/.NET. End time is roughly 1PM Pacific.
other TLDs start at different times. There's no set time, and they don't all drop at once. Registrars will keep hitting the registry until they can either grab the domain or they see it's taken. Luck of the draw on the backorders pretty much. |
Depends on the domain....

Domain Name Drop Times
.com & .net = 1:00-2:15 PM Central Standard Time .org = 8:30-9:30 AM Central Standard Time .info = 3:30-4:00 AM Central Standard Time .biz = 1:30-2:00 AM Central Standard Time .us = 12:00-12:30 AM Central Standard Time |
you aren't going to successfully register any dropped domains that are worth anything... unless you are going for some obscure domains with no traffic, I wouldn't even bother trying...
