I invite each and every one of you to write one tip for success in the adult internet industry. This post should be a reference to newbies and vetrans alike if everything goes according to plan.

My first tip:

Constantly learn and read about what's new.

Believe none of what you hear and half of what you see.

Never ever ever lie on GFY.

GFY is a huge collection of people with unlimited resources and way too much time. If your debating something - say politics - don't make a statement unless you can verify online from a legit source that it is 100% true. If you don't do this, you'll be eaten alive.

Never lie about anything. Paul Markham came to us and told us his program was making bang, when the truth is his join pages didn't work. He tried to back pedal and spin it when he was caught, but the trurth is everyone who sent him traffic knew it didn't work because no got sales. Now he's a joke.

Not sure if you are an advertiser, if not might want to re-size your sig banner.

Signature rules. Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 lines of text. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60. Yes there is a reason this is so big. Also putting your text in a cell and making it look like a button is against the rules. Let me repeat... A 120 x 60 button and no more than 3 lines of text. Over the top sigs will be deleted without warning!

Never, EVER, think you can leave and come back. Time goes by 100x faster online then the real world and youll get left in the dust.

Work, Shut up, stay off GFY, work some more, monitor GFY for the rich webmasters when they dispense wisdom, keep your head down, don't pick up the soap, no matter what, work some more, shut the fuck up, don't piss anyone off, GFY, make a good product, call CCBILL and tell them you want more sales, they will listen, make at least one post a day on GFY so you can reach your goal of 40leven thousand posts. Chill. Repeat.

Think outside the box and don't play follow the leader.

If you really suck, just copy 10 other peoples business plans... You will be pimp status in no time.

Spend all day, every day, posting about poo on GFY...

This is probably one of the best lessons in life.

Edit2: Get lucky. And realize it when you do get lucky. I got (very) lucky once and didn't realize it at the time. Just thought shit was easy. Unfortunately I am extremely lazy, and find the kind of stuff you need to do to 'sell' to be extremely boring, and in hindsight should have made more of the luck I got while it lasted.

Track what you do and analyze the stats ... then you will know what to expand and what not to waste your time and money on. :2 cents:

Stop thinking like a webmaster and think like a surfer!

Post to GFY daily. Each time you receive important milestone, like post number 100, 500, 1000, etc. make thread about it. You'll receive tons of congratulations. This is your reward, enjoy your success.

Find the right industry role for yourself.

There are many roles which one can fill in the adult industry. You can either become a specialist for a large company or a jack of all trades independent like myself.

Start off by picking a company that isn't well too known on the tubes like our sites over at tushycash.com I know I know a selfish plug lol ask the aff rep or the owner questions about which site does what, find good traffic send to sites and test test test! I know I am plugging away at our program but if you do want to start off and promote someone hit me up and I will help you as much as I can!

Dont take advice from people on GFY and dont seek advice from people on GFY or any other board.

Thats harsh to say!! There are a few of us on here that are willing to help others out!

Do not give your content away for free. Only display thumbnail photos on your hosted gallery sites. Make it easy for surfers to pay to join for full size viewing.

Develop a unique niche.

:thumbsup , treat them individually so they get back to you again and again, and probably to refer you to other clients - have a good personality - be a people person.

If you're starting out don't bother becoming an affiliate, start your own paysites.

Start with a small amount of quality content, that will get signups. Pick a couple of niches and once you have the volume get a merchant account.

Do step one and you'll make 3 - 4 times what you would have made as an affiliate, add step two and it'll be 5 - 6 times within 6 months to 1 year.

Another Tip

Learn SEO, you don't have to be an expert but the more you know the better.

Pick 3 or 4 niches and start 1 or 2 quality sites for each one, update as often as possible with quality content and if you're reasonable at SEO you'll have a decent income if you work at it.

I'll post two.

Very few who were on top five or ten years ago are on top today. History tends to repeat itself.

2. Try not to be just an affiliate. If you are realize you are probably being ripped off or at least leaving money on the table.

Don't believe what trolls write.

The big and easy money is long gone.

The odds on a newbie making it, never were good. Now nearly impossible.

If you want to be an affiliate it will cost you nothing to very little.

If you want to open a paysite and make money, mortgage your house.

Most people with no sig or something in their sig they don't own are normally not got anything worth putting up for show.
