This is an auction for an ULTRA rare REVENGE of the jedi proof card of Boba Fett.

The film was originally going to be called Revenge of the Jedi until Lucas decided a Jedi wouldnt take revenge, but up to that point pre production designs were already in full flow, hence this Fett proof card

This is a truely rare and collectible piece and has been graded 85 by the AFA

You'd think for that money you'd at least get the figure! :1orglaugh

My neighbor collects vintage toys and has me do all of his online auction work. He's a flea market guy with no computer experience. The prices people pay for just boxes is amazing, mind blowing! He's been getting a lot of old trains lately, and they sell out as fast as he can get them in. I've never listed an auction for him that didn't meet the reserve.

He let me keep an old Atari from a haul of his last year. I still play that thing, takes me back to being a kid :thumbsup

My brother collects cars - not matchbox cars, but bigger. Thousands of them. Has them all in boxes.

There will always be a market for nostalgia.

Notice that there is a difference in this one from the OP's one, beside the fact that a figure is included. The printing on the cardboard is different. Collector's do go nuts for this type of thing, it is quite amazing to watch sometimes. :2 cents::2 cents:

I collect Garbage Pail Kids........I know, it's retarded.

I was in K-mart a few years ago and I noticed that they had started releasing new series' of them, and I loved them as a kid. I bought a couple packs, then I went over to my Mother's house and dug up all my old ones out of the attic. It just snowballed from there, I began a quest to collect every Garbage Pail Kid I could. I have every series, boxes of unopened packs, posters, etc. The whole collection is probably worth a couple grand but i'll just end up giving it to my kids one day, hopefully. Maybe they'll appreciate the things as much as I did.

I use to have thousands of those cards! Man, I miss those days!

The reason for the insane price is that it is an oddball. Look closely: The original title of the film WAS "Revenge of the Jedi." But, Lucas made a last minute change before the release to "Return of the Jedi," because revenge would not be a Jedi value. A scant amount of promo materials and licensed goods were produced and leaked to market before the change, and they are quite valuable.

(Yes, I am embarrassed that I know this.)

Edit: OOPS, just saw someone else already said this.
