Anybody use DISQUS ???

Do you like it? Did it increase activity on your pages?

http://disqus.com if you never heard of it.

I've seen a lot of different sites using it. I haven't implemented it personally on any sites so not sure if it increases the activity.

If anyone’s been following my blog since the beginning, you’ll be aware that I have tried many different solutions for comments. I moved them to the right, made them stick to the page as users scrolled, added notices in the post to encourage posting, switched to Facebook Comments and finally removed all the fancy features and switched to DISQUS as they are now. Getting comments isn’t easy. Even when you get quite a few visitors, you’ll still find that an extremely low percentage will actually comment. Having tried so many different variations, DISQUS is definitely the most effective way to increase comments.

Probably the best bet for mainstream, not sure about adult.

From what I've gathered the terms don't say anything against adult and says they ain't responsible for sites content.

I love disqus, it's really good as the comments system. But do they provide you with the database dump so you can switch to another software if necessary?

No. So if they disappear or you decide it sucks, it's all gone. Just like facebook comments. But I'm going to give disqus a try though, looks the most promising for sites that I want discussions on but don't want to run any software on or enable wordpress comments on.
