Is difficult for an American to visit Cuba?

Anyone gone there before? How hard is it for me to secure a visa to get there? I wanna play tourist early next year.

I think a few here have posted stories.

are you american? probably should try somewhere else.. Your government will be pretty curious about your trip when you come back.

It's a popular inexpensive trip for canadians though. I've heard that you can't book trips with visa or use travelers checks out there... anyone know if there is any truth to that?

Problem isn't going there, its explaining where you've been :2 cents:

things are a bit different there i heard

things like different sayings: 'snitches get serious cash rewards'

actually they just started allowing flights from Miami to Havana in October from Delta: http://www.ajc.com/business/hola-cub...o-1186162.html

you have to provide a legitimate reason to go there, but im sure this will start to open up travel

Go to Mexico or the islands and buy a ticket to Havana.

The Cuban government will not stamp your passport. It will cost you a bit more, but that is all need to do. When you come back to the states, all they will know is that you went to Mexico.

It's fun but can be expensive your first time. Remember you're not going to offend anyone by telling them no, learn how to tell people to back off and to fuck off in spanish and you'll be alright, everyone is trying to hustle tourists, it's non stop.

Lived there for 5 years, loved it, of course I was behind a fence, however GetSCORECash is correct, that is the best way.

Go to Dominican Republic and it will look like all of your Cuban cigars are DR cigars... Just ask to have them double capped... Since Cubans triple cap their cigars...

My mother visited Cuba about five or six years ago. She told me it was beautiful.

Trip to Cancun or Bahamas is the best route.

Cuba Will NOT stamp your pass port.

YOU CAN NOT use a Visa or mastercard from the states its a cash only deal. DO NOT USE A US CREDIT CARD.

Its a great place to visit and not overly expensive. Get out of the hotel and check out the real neighborhoods and enjoy yourself. Its a great safe place to go.

I have been 6 times and will most likely be going some time after the new year.
