Anyone here who tried online dating?

As the title says, have you tried online dating?

If so, were you lucky and got laid or find a partner? Or did you just waste your money and time? I believe both scenarios are possible depending on how you act on dating sites.

One reason to why I ask this is because I recently launched a new site, www.premiumpimp.com - a guide on how to be successful with online dating.

Don't know if this shit will work, but it could be interesting to find out... what do you guys think?

site looks good but i have no idea about online dating

kane 11-16-2011 02:38 AM

I have a friend who met her husband in an online dating site. I have tried a few of the adult ones and most of the people in them seemed to either be solo girls trying to sell their sites, scammers of some sort or another or people who do a lot of chatting, but never meet.

I did meet a few women. One was cool and we dated for a few months. We we just hooked up and had sex and one turned out to be a psycho.

Thanks! The site has more or less zero traffic right now, so it's kind of pointless to put any ads on there at this state. But Iīll keep you in mind =)

I've met hundreds of girls via online dating over the years. The first big site, at least in NYC, was Matchmaker back in 2000. I remember thinking about just how amazingly efficient it was to put up a profile that would work for me during the day while I was at work. After MM started getting lame, Nerve was good for awhile and then jdate. I'm not Jewish, but it was popular in NYC for a bit (see NYT article). Craigslist has also been a constant source since 2001, but the ratio started getting out of whack about 3 or so years ago. Still doesn't hurt do a posting every now and then, though.

Never tried. I think their are a big scam.

I met a lot of women on dating sites. I fucked a bunch of them. One really great lady said I wouldn't be fucking her unless I married her. We've been married for three years.

One major tip I tell people is use action shots for your pics - pics of you doing something interesting, like you on a horse, skiing, whatever. It makes you look fun to be around and sets you apart from a sea of faces. It also gives some hint as to your personality.

raymor 11-16-2011 05:59 AM

Another dating site hint - since the people looking at your profile can't hear you speak, they can only choose you based on your writing and a pic, so spell correctly, unless you want to come across as "yo dawg wassup". I watched a guy lose the interest ofa woman by saying "your pretty". "My pretty what?", she asked. He meant "you're pretty", of course. If you say of dating sites "their not going to work", you're probably right. If you say "they're going to work" you may also be right.

http://www.plentyoffish.com is a great free dating site. After my wife and I separated, I found one girl on there that lived 3 hours away from me and I talked to her for HOURS on the phone, then went down and spent a weekend with her, it was a good time, but I didn't like that kind of distance, so I broke it off before it got too serious. Then I found a second girl on there and we had a month long fling, where I got sex also, ha ha. She ended up moving away for school, so that was broken off. My current gf, I met on Craigslist and we've been together 7 months now and it's going good, she's pretty amazing.

Slick 11-16-2011 06:30 AM

The one thing that's best for you to do if you're looking, is write a lot about you. Don't just say the basics, go into detail on some of your favorite things. I know in the two girls I first met, they had really nice profiles with lots of personality in them, which drew me in and my current gf answered my Craigslist ad and she said she did because I did the same, posted a lot of detailed info about me.

There's nothing wrong with internet dating, it's a great way to break the ice without being embarassed, I'm too shy to go up to a girl, but online, it's much easier and you can have girls come to you also, which gives you a picking option ;) Plus, if you really don't go to the bars that often, where are you actually gonna meet someone ??

Used to get laid a ton out of match.com. Eventually I met my wife on there and we've been married for Five years.

I would say a lot of paid ones aimed at men from the online porn biz are cons.

Father_of_HereIsThePorn why would anyone pay $29.95 a month to get what you have? There are better and easier ways to make money.

Throw the join fee into the bin, keep it non porn related and sell advertising. Use the forum as a blog to get traffic. You need traffic from men and women.

Many years ago after my first marriage crashed I tried a few "Lonely Hearts Ads" in magazines and papers. Met more freaks and losers than I thought and stuck to dating girls who were answering my ads to be nude models. These girls seems saner. Go figure how nutty the Lonely Hearts girls were. :1orglaugh

I met Eva, 14 years ago, via an advert for models.

I come from a time when if you wanted to meet girls, you went to the club, club or disco. Shopping was also a good pulling ground, especially with a kid in tow. Single Dads are babe magnets. Go figure that one out. :upsidedow

Camguy 11-16-2011 07:53 AM

Long story short, yes I have had a lot of success meeting women on dating sites, including thanks to one scammer (who used a photo of an actress from her own country that I am foreign to and she assumed it would be unlikely for a foreigner outside her country to ever find out who the actress was), the actress herself. I saw an ad in a weekly local circular for the actress and how she was on tour supporting her new found singing career in the country I was residing in. Interesting was the photo the scammer chose to use was the same photo that was printed in the circular. I went out to the actresses show in the hopes of telling her the story after the show and having one photo of us taken together that I could in turn send to the scammer with the caption "Don't we look great together?" Turns out the actress was single, and I dated her for an intense 5 months while she was in my country. Online dating can be a grab bag of goodies or trouble, you just never know. :1orglaugh

Thatīs a good question.

People pay for pills that make your penis bigger and they pay for book that describes how to become an alpha male, so I thought that maybe there are people who are willing to pay for a guide where you learn some really good tips and tricks on how to improve your online dating.

But I have thought about making the site free if it turns out that no one wants to pay for it...

I met my boyfriend on OKCupid 2.5 years ago. Unfortunately, we're ending it in February because I'm moving (womp womp) and our lives are going in different directions, but it worked none-the-less.
