affiliate questions

Hello,

What do you pay attention to when choosing an affiliate in terms op price setting? Do you guys also use sponsors that don't mention the price very clear (like nastydollars) or should the price be displayed very clear?

Also do you guys think Flash ads do better than animated gif banners?

I think there are not big differences in pricing between sponsors. $29.95 per month is very usual. Lower price usually did not help to attract more people compare to weight of content so just reduce your revenue, higher probably brings additional risks of the chargebacks what reduces your income too and may result in sponsor termination by bank.

I rarely look at what the price is, or if it's displayed or not. If I like a tour, I try sending traffic to it, and see if it converts. If it does, I continue to send traffic, if not, i ditch it.

Since i produce a lot of traffic, i make sure that the Affiliate Program can provide whatever tools i need. I'm always looking for new sponsors. I check out their payment back ground to make sure they are never late, shaving or even scamming their Affiliates. High Payouts and professional design of the site. That's about it for me.

Pricing is just one factor to picking an offer that is going to work for your traffic. Keep in mind that the cheapest price point between two sponsors isn't a fool proof way to pick, a smart sponsor spends a lot of time and money testing and optimizing their price points; sometimes a more expensive option converts better.

The next thing to note is that affiliate programs may advertise massive payouts. If its too good to be true, it is. That means there is some sort of small print going on. A member has an average value and if they are paying out more then they bring in they go out of business. That means there is always a track to the higher payouts. An example would be a sponsor that pays $100 per for a dating join. Sounds good, but then you find out that you get paid $100 only after a user makes a free account and then upgrades to a full price membership within a few days. That means that you were better off working with a program paying you $50 per sale in the end.

Picking creatives is the hardest part of making money online. Different traffic needs different creative, the only way to figure out whats going to work best is to run tests. Running tests on your own is very hard. Pick an affiliate program that can do the testing for you. A good program will be able to run split tests on creative and landing pages for you in order to maximize your profitability.

What size of banners are most desired by affiliate webmasters? I am sorry if I go little bit of topic, yet I read that you touched the topic of tools and their variety. I am just preparing the banners for my personal site right now and since I am a newbie to adult, I wish to ask you boys...
