Need a fix for Windows 7 file browser status bar BADLY
http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/w...7-d8dca196a308
What the fuck, how in the hell, could they be THAT stupid?! Being able to select files and get a total size, see how many objects and total file size of those objects while viewing a folder, this is exceedingly important to many users Is there an alternative file browser out there? |
There has to be a fix somewhere
This is like a bad fucking joke Are they even serious about this Some stupid new disk caching bullshit makes showing free space difficult, fine, but it would have been damned easy to leave the other parts in, right? |
|
get a fucking mac...

Plus the computer I am using didn't cost $400. It cost me $325. But it is not a "$400 computer" because the cpu alone retails for almost that much. It must be at least a $500 computer. :1orglaugh |

Classic Shell restores the old status bar in Windows Explorer (not IE).
I use it and have had no problems on Win7. http://classicshell.sourceforge.net/ |
I am not sure what that shit is all about anyway... I am using a fresh install of Windows 7 Ultimate and whenever I click on a folder it tells me how many items are in the folder and if I click a file I get all kinds of info... so ???
|
Older Win file browsers gave you more info in the status bar when you clicked on a folder. Total size of the files in the folder and free disc space remaining.
Useful for moving to another drive or burning the folder onto a disc etc. Classic Shell restores these features to the Win7 file browser among other things it does. |
The last time i checked there was no fix to this , you will have to use a third party software to view folder sizes in W7, the other features such as file sizes are already present in W7 all you need to do is right click on the folder's top bar and add what you want.
