NEVER take it. It caused her to be an insane terrible problem for me for ten years and turn on me when I am the only person in her life who treats her like a human. While on it she made all kinds of bad decisions. She even gave a very nice house away to my crooked cousin who doesn't care if she starves to death. He literally came over in his $70k Lexus truck and brought he meat that expired TEN years prior. It was green. When she was hungry. It also made her gain a pile of weight and she subsequently became diabetic. She finally got the HELL off of it and we've had her back for a few years, but she will definitely not live as long, now.

Do not ever take Paxil.

If I could sue them for what it did to her (and my) life as a result of what it took to take care of her, you know, I would sue them to fucking hell. But you can't sue unless it kills the patient.

I'm in the process of weening off Effexxor. Its horrible, I suggest anyone on it, thinking of going on it, or thinking to do lots of research first.

Doctors don't know shit about all these drugs for mental illness that flood the market. When I asked my doctor to take me off effexxor, he didn't know how!

Its been a struggle since early June, coming down 13.5mg every two weeks. This week I said fuck it and just stopped taking it.

Don't worry- it will be worth getting off of it- she is herself again. After a few weeks, I had my grandmother back. I swear I have never sued anything in my life, but glaxo would get it up the ass in court from me if a lawyer would take the case. Lawyers, pfft. "Is she dead?" "No, but.." "Oh well, I don't want the case if she is alive."

Yeah, I feel like my life has been stagnant for about 10 years now because of this dumb drug.
Sad thing is, I am on 4 other medications to handle the side effects of effexxor. Something is very wrong with this picture.

I've been on so many of those...paxil, prozac, wellbutrin, etc....they didn't help and when I was on paxil I was ALWAYS angry...I used to snap at everything.

I swear 90 percent of what they prescribe is poison. The only useful thing I have ever gotten from a doctor's office has been antibiotics.

We obviously need them for many things but too many people take their advice without question.

I know countless friends who have been in the same situation as you are now. Good luck to you. I have heard tapering off can be a nightmare.

It is so true. She would turn on me and get mad and angry and then go nuts saying "I know you hate me and don't care about me". I gave up years of my life babysitting her ass. Then worst part was her giving that nice house to my cousin because she is afraid of him. I needed that, I loved that house. He ain't been there for her a day in his miserable life. STILL to this day tough for me to swallow, but I know she was not herself.

Never heard of it before, sounds like a piece of shit of a drug.

Wonder what the herbalists would suggest for anti-depression, probably a natural healthy way of dealing with it.
