question about vps hosting

question about vps hosting
i have
2 vCPU Core
2gb ram
100 GBs Disk Space
100 Mbps Unmetered Transfer
has freebsd

my question is i had 9 sites (all wordpress) with no more than 1000 hits per day on shared hosting that ran fine
know i have a vps that keeps crashing i had 1gb of ram and 1 vCPU Core that vps kept crashing so know i have the specs above and that keeps crashing

with the sites i have created
robot
sitemap
Quick Cache plugin
removed unwanted plugin s
removed unwanted themes

shared hosting cost me $15 per month and the 2gb vps is costing me $37
any ideas what im doing wrong as i thort the 1gb and 1 core would be fine

Check your php configuration in WHM.... default is usually 64mb for PHP memory.... bump it up to 256mb on that 2 gig server.

Good luck.

This usually happens when PHP is setup to run suPHP. And this also happens when someone else on the server is hogging all of the resources.

I suggest Cyberwurx. I have some VPS with them and I don't run into these kinds of problems.

u get out of memory and ur vps hangs...
i had a similar problem but made a script in pearl to check mem free and I got 50MB of free memory it restarts the apache...
its a dumb solution but its working... :)

Was your $15 shared on Hostgator? To get an equivalently performing VPS to that you'd have to spend $100+ per month

Something is wrong for sure. I have 70 blogs(with way more than 1000 uniques a day total) on 1 of my VPS with 1 core + 1 gig at amerinoc, runs smooth.

It sounds like something is wrong with WP itself or the plugs, that VPS config SHOULD be enough. Likely a misconfig somewhere. Caching will help greatly.

We have some custom WP cache modules that we use too that will help. If you do decide to move to another VPS provider let me know. Hope the above is helpful and all works out soon for you.
