print screen and paste into photoshop or any graphics program and tell me how many pixels wide the browsers you have open are.

my screen resolution is 1920x1080 and my browser is sized at 1417 pixels wide.

Screen: 1680 x 1050
Browser: 1068 x 775

I moved it to 1111 x 777 for oddball numerological reasons but just the small difference makes it seem too wide for me, so I'm reducing it again. I get irritated by too much space either side of page content. 960 or 978 are considered to be good widths for web design, I believe.
