Guess I'll signup for Skype
 

For some reason I always thought it was just for voice or video chatting.

I've got a premium account that has about 8 months left on it. It has a number from around the San Diego area and voicemail with it as well. Call anywhere in the USA or Canada.

Curious if anyone here would like to buy it off me? Got it for $90, would anyone be willing to pay $50 or so?

It's also great for teleportation.

I think it's a good option for international calls when you don't want to pay the higher fees with your cell phone

I rarely use Skype for voice, but I use it everyday for IM'ing :2 cents:

We use it for video with Grandma and the kids.

Skype is amazing. It works perfectly. Most our biz contacts are on Skype now. ICQ is old and busted

It will eventually replace ICQ for webmasters i think, but it will still be quite a while away yet...

I use snail mail for all my communications. Nothing like holding a letter.

There's no reason for it to take so long. We just need to convince a few board owners (cough cough) to skin their sites for a week and the next week ICQ is on its last legs. I say we fight! :)

Skype is a piece of shit and after having used it for a while, I now refuse to use it for business or anything else. If you want me then either you got ICQ/MSN/YM or e-mail, or fuck it.

I just added it to trillian so it's not like I have to run a separate program.

I replaced my ICQ with skype over 4 years ago now ... I sent out a mass broadcast to all my ICQ clients stating that I had lost all confidence in ICQ after being hacked, and for my own security, and the security of my clients, I would only be available on Skype (and of course email and 1-800 phone number) ...

I have not opened ICQ in over 4 years, and I do not miss it one bit ... :thumbsup

skype is the best choice

I have one problem with Skype, if I send a message to someone that are not online they do not get it until we are both online at the same time.
ICQ delivers offline messages half the time when the recipient gets online and sadly thats to prefer over Skypes option.
