You 1%'ers make me sick...
It only takes $34,000 per person to be amid the richest 1% of people in the world. :1orglaugh

What an insanely stupid article, perhaps one of the dumbest published to date.

Kind of sad actually, even when i travel to the Caribbean and see people living in the shantys and working for peanuts I am reminded how lucky we actually are.

A friend of mine is going through a really rough time to the point where he had to cut his cable TV. And that sounds really bad. But then I think about starving kids in Africa and it doesn't sound like such a big deal. Hell, even my wife clears $34k after taxes. |

In the lottery of life, if you are in the USA today.......You won!

Pretty sure the 1% thing pertains to US residents. Who cares really though, any person with a lot of money is going to be viewed as a 1%er to everyone. It's just a baseless label for jealous people to throw around.

I know you can own two or three retail buildings of 4-5,000 sq ft out of the entire city and be considered a 1%er. Truthfully, it don't take very much these days to be considered rich and very taxable.

So true. The fact is that if the "occupy" movement REALLY became global, all of the people in the US, the EU, Australia and Japan would be stripped of all the luxuries that they take for granted every day, in order to pay for the rest of the worlds ability to have wood floors in their homes, food every day, and clean water. All those people sitting in city parks with their nice tents and iphones would be in for a VERY rude awakening.
