no one even knows where the owner is. he disappeared months ago. someone else is running the site. I do imagine since they do not pay for hosting, any ad's they sell will go to profit. I wish Amerinoc would look at there server because its running pretty damn slow these days. Had a hard time setting up trades last night.

very carefully ...

I love Linkspun and I'd probably pay a reasonable fee to use it if there was ever a threat of it going away.

I doubt it make money, more likely just cover cost.I would make a better version for link exchanges but server cost would probably kill it.

he sold ad spots on the niche pages

It does indeed have the ability to make money. Having seen some of the books I can attest that it can make more than most GFY'ers make in a month. Of course most GFY'ers do this as a side job... A year ago you could not live on the money, but you probably could now. Just depends on what you call living.

Most families in middle America live on about as much as LinkSpun can generate.

Without Jdoughs it is basically just sitting there. Ad spots will probably be resold again to pay for upgrades to various things and fix some bugs. It wasn't supposed to make money though.. That was never Jdoughs intention. He just wanted to make a place better than Thunder-ball.net and he did. Then he noticed with the mad page views it gets from webmasters that people wanted to buy ad spots. All by accident.

No idea where he is... Sure we are dragging our feet on making changes... but then it isn't ours so that is why. It still works and is still the best solution out there for link trading by far.

Hopefully Jdoughs will reappear!

As I've stated before, we will continue to donate the hosting, but none of us have any sites using it, so we don't actively monitor the site, we just monitor the server, it hasn't had any issues that I'm aware of, no alerts, site loads fast for me. If the people that currently over see it do not contact us saying they need help then we assume all is good, and none of them have contacted me, several have me on ICQ and have notified me directly in the past when there have been issues or emailed our support desk, we haven't received any notices to check on it in several months. Last time, it was the original programmer that needed to get in there and update some stuff on the script from what I recall, don't think it was clearing logs correctly.

Cheers.

Pages take a few... 10 seconds to load sometimes. It's no big deal though.

Like others have said, it takes awhile for pages to load...I'm on a Verizon Fios connection so it's def not my internet and others have said as well it just loads slow. It's not a big deal though, Link Spun is great PERIOD, it's by far the coolest thing in the adult industry I have seen in awhile so it's really nice of Amerinoc to host it.
