Americans, what do you think of Georgia ( country ) and Saakashvili?

Just curious, how do you treat / see that country and their President?

quoted for truth, but might want to add a .9 in there :)

raymor 01-12-2012 12:34 PM

80% aren't sure if Georgia is a city or if it's one of the fifty-seven states.

Of course Georgia the US state is a lot closer to home for US citizens, and it's twice the size of tbe European nation of the same name. Given that Georgia has about the same population as the nearest big city for most Americans, they probably care more about the city they live on than about a far away country that's the same size.

I have 2 female assistants from the country of Georgia. I never knew Georgia (the country) existed until I met them. They told me that they were from Georgia and I said "bullshit", I'm from Georgia and you're accent does not sound like someone from Georgia :1orglaugh

They explained that they were from the Country of Georgia and I was like whutttt?????

Anyway, they're good girls and have been assisting me for many years now. They're like family :thumbsup

There is such a state in the USA. I've been there so I'm an official Georgian visitor :)

BTW, I remember there was almost a hysterics on some the US Internet boards in 2008 during so-called "5-day war". The average thread there was looking like that:

- WTF? Russian tanks in Georgia?
- Can't believe Russians invaded America!!!
- Don't panic there! Our army should do something!
- Georgians, please cling together, I believe Russians will leave soon!
...
- What??? It's not in the USA?
- Please don't tell me there is another Georgia.
- Caucasus??? Where is it???
- God, I really thought Russian invaded us! LOL
...

And something like that. It was actually funny to read those threads especially knowing how good the Americans are familiar with the World's geography :pimp

I think they kick ass in a country of Georgia comparing to any other non EU Ex USSR country.

just a punk 01-12-2012 01:08 PM

As about Saakashvili. I don't know how good he is as a president, but he's really a brave man. Proof below:

Yeah, he's da man :thumbsup

And a bit of statistics. There is about 4.5 Millions citizens in Georgia, and about 500 thousands of Georgians who live in Russia (most of them are in Moscow :)). Seems Georgia is a really good place to live :winkwink: :2 cents:

Sid70 01-12-2012 01:17 PM

Average people run out to make a coin in Moscow and Kiev - that's not a secret, it happens everywhere, and I assure you they would run much more far away if there were countries to go visa free.

Sid70 01-12-2012 01:20 PM

Any other President would be taken care of in the same manner, covered by his bodyguards.

Sid70 01-12-2012 01:21 PM

And I want to see you taking decisions on that level, you'd probably go flexible way sucking your cock, right?

Yep, almost all prostitutes in Moscow are from Ukraine (not a joke). Don't get me wrong - I have nothing against the Ukrainian girls and Ukrainians in general (have a few Ukrainian buddies, my wife is half Ukrainian etc), but it looks like Moscow is a much better place to "make a coin" than Kiev and especially than Tbilisi.

Georgia was like a heaven on Earth in the USSR times, because it was living on huge donations from other Soviet republics. But times have changed...

Here is a list for Russia. I believe you'll find the similar list for Georgia... and you'll be very surprised :winkwink:

how much do you know about Algeria without googling it? Half the size of Europe and has over 36 million people in it apparently.. I had to look that up, so would most of us.

There aren't a lot of people on this planet that have a large understanding of every single country.. so how is it ignorant not to know about one that has 4 million people?

Not too much but:
1) It's a country in the North Africa (can't say more exactly)
2) It's a former French colony (have no idea when it was colonized and freed).

Not too much, ok. But at least something.

All I care about Georgia is that they invented the wine, and that's enough reason for greatness! (the word wine "vine" has its origins in that country). Other than that, I don't know much about them.

But for some reason you always want to inform others about it. I'm really touched with your attraction but I believe others don't give a shit what exactly you scroll down and why. Just my 2 cents.

99.99999% of Americans don't know and don't care about "that" Georgia. And why would they?
Do they have Atlanta Falcons or peach farms? No? So fuck'em.

there's maybe 20 states i could point out on a map, Idaho is not among them. by the name it sounds like it's trapped somewhere in the middle around Ohio, Nebraska or something like that. i am too lazy to look it up

Many Americans know nothing of Idaho.

Many confuse it with Iowa.

Not exactly. This is the only country in the World which has a State museum of Stalin - the guy who is in charge for a great starvation in the USSR in 1931-1933 (the Ukrainian people used to call it "golodomor").

Here is a quote which describes an attitude of current Georgian president Mr. Saakashvili (the gay who ate his own tie on the video above) towards Stalin:

"This is not how the Georgians see things. In an interview with a Dutch magazine, Sandra Roelofs, the Dutch wife of the new Georgian president and hence the new first lady of Georgia, explained that her husband aspires to follow in the long tradition of strong Georgian leaders "like Stalin and Beria". Saakashvili started his march on Tbilisi last November with a rally in front of the statue of Stalin in his birthplace, Gori."

So if you are a hardcore Stalin's fan, you will like Saakashvili and his "new Georgia" too :2 cents:

ottopottomouse 01-13-2012 07:11 AM

Definitely penguins

What I can really say about rooskies they really can operate a ton of knowledge... USELESS knowledge. Tbilisi is not in the list of comparison, idiot, it's luckily out of the list where people are trying to build a new life according to the law not to your rooski mentality.

didnt know Georgia had become a country - just thought it was a region of Russia - couldnt place it on a map other than south of moscow. never once - til now - heard of this sasquachski presidenty. the only reason I know of your Georgia at all is cuz Sir Paul once sang "and Georgia is always on my mind mind mind".

thats probably most americans. there's many reasons the US educational system is failing. Not knowing about Georgia the country is NOT ONE OF THEM.:2 cents:

Interesting banking systems there. Some really good potential if one didn't have to spend all of ones time figuring out who's ass you have to kiss!

It's strange somehow that my main interest in countries has become primarily about their card processing potential!!
