Did anybody besides me donate money to Stuart for writing it?

I haven't, but I'd gladly kick in $100 or more, if we can put together a co-ordinated action to raise money so he can update it. Anyone have contact with him so he can be asked how much money it would take?

for 100 you could probably have it coded, how hard is it to code a FF addon? similar to WOW addons with LUA?

He had mentioned at one point creating a Chrome version and it went no where.

That's something I'd kick in on.

Also, he released to source code to the original version...so anyone is welcome to go and make updates and release it.

Hey guys, someone sent me this thread... I'm sorry I couldn't keep ffvb around longer.

FF and VB both upgraded to version 4 at almost the same time which drastically changed things. Then FF really screwed the pooch for extension developers with their "rapid release system" which is why they're now at version 9 but many extensions aren't...

On top of that, family/life stuff took all my time as it was, so a side project that received the occasional donation here and there definitely didn't warrant my attention as much as it had in the past.

As candyflip said, the code is available, feel free to grab it, use it if you want, run with it.. or start your own.

I'd be more than happy to consult/collaborate... I did have some big plans for it but well, those just aren't in the future for me anymore.
