Been so long since a good movie came out.

Pathetic, nothing worth going out to see in the theatres anymore.

DarkJedi 01-20-2012 04:03 AM

i torrented Sunshine yesterday.

a 2007 movie, no idea how i had missed it.

it was awesome.

Emil 01-20-2012 04:07 AM

Have you seen "The way back"?
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1023114/

CurrentlySober 01-20-2012 04:12 AM

Came out of where? My Butt?

Paul Markham 01-20-2012 04:48 AM

We agree on something.

I did enjoy King's Speech so much I bought the DVD. And that's been the only one for a long time that I saw recently and liked enough to buy the DVD. Most of it today appeals to kids. The under 50s LOL

cooldude7 01-20-2012 04:49 AM

i still watch captain america sometimes.,

anexsia 01-20-2012 06:14 AM

last two good movies I watched were "I Saw The Devil" and "Let The Right One In"

AllAboutCams 01-20-2012 06:34 AM

nothing for me for a long time.

Joshua G 01-20-2012 08:35 AM

that's a good point actually. They don't seem to make many movies for adults these days do they? Often when they do they make them so boring and artsy that nobody enjoys them.

forget cloning dogs, we need to clone David Leane...

DamianJ 01-20-2012 09:35 AM

Hugo was amazingly good, and despite it being popcorn trash, I enjoyed the latest Mission Impossible too

Biggie Smalls Web Writing 01-20-2012 09:44 AM

Mo money, mo problems.

Jo-Leigh 01-20-2012 09:44 AM

Drive
Ides of March
Mission Impossible (was super!)
The Kids Aren't Alright
Chloe
The Artist
My Weekend With Marilyn
The Descendants
Hugo
The WHOLE Dragon Tattoo series (the original ones obvs)
The NEW Dragon Tattoo movie

AND I just saw A Dangerous Method, which was Cronenberg and AWESOME!

... needless to say, I disagree with your statement. But you know, everyone has different tastes.

DamianJ 01-20-2012 09:48 AM

Just reading Dragon Tattoo. Started really slow, but holy fuck it gets going! Wowzers.

candyflip 01-20-2012 09:49 AM

I actually see a ton of great movies to watch, and I don't often go to see mainstream theatre trash these days.

My local Indie theatre has a TON of great movies on a regular basis. Mondays are always $5 too.

MrBottomTooth 01-20-2012 09:51 AM

I seen a documentary on Lemmy the other day. Probably won't like it if you're not a Motorhead fan, but it was interesting. Honestly can't think of anything else I have enjoyed recently, except for maybe Human Centipede Part 2, just because it was so twisted.

If you liked Lemmy, try watching "A Headbangers Journey" and "Global Metal". Both are excellent.

thecooze 01-20-2012 10:19 AM

I rather enjoyed "Warrior" check it out.

grumpy 01-20-2012 10:19 AM

This looks like a fun movie

nope. same jar jar binks, 3D.

in addition titanic 3D & top Gun 3D are coming out. nothing says success like recycling the same content.

Was Jurassic Park recently out in 3D aswell ??

I'm sure i saw a poster for it on my last visit to the cinema. 3D still doesn't really interest me. Mind you, when the original Star Wars Trilogy comes out in 3D, i'll probably struggle to resist...

This is a pretty ridiculous statement. The last 2 months have been the best for movies in years.

Paul&John 01-20-2012 05:39 PM

harry brown was pretty good ... (2009)

He also did A History of Violence which I thought was really well done.

There are good movies around I'm sure, but not sure if there are as many classics lately as seen from 10+ years down the road as there used to be.

icymelon 01-20-2012 06:13 PM

IMO2011 was one of the best years for film in a very long time.
Descendents
Girl With Dragon Tattoo
Ides Of March
Limitless
Money Ball
Companymen

I thought of it as more of a comedy than an action movie, but it was great compared to what i expected it to be.

mikesinner 01-20-2012 08:53 PM

Plenty of good movies out. You are just getting old. Don't get old man.

I watched the DVD of Nowhere Boy last night, it's about John Lennon and the start of the Beatles, pre Hamburg. Bloody great, recommend it. :thumbsup

killer elite was a bit tough for me... real English accents are difficult for me to understand... you know the accent from the streets, not the BBC news accent
