Stopped to get gas at QT
Stopped at Circle K and got smokes

Every fucking stop, someone approached me and asked me for money.

Now here's the part that really pisses me off. Right across the street from the Circle K I stopped at is one of those recycle machines. A nickel for every aluminum can, glass or plastic bottle. The two trash cans in front of the Circle K had visible recyclables in them. I didn't count exactly, but from what I could see easily 35-40 cents worth.

I told the guy to get all of the recyclables out of the trash and handed him a plastic bag from my car and pointed at the machine.

He told me to fuck off.

He told you to fuck off? Wow. drug addict. not someone actually in need.

tramps are big business. here in europe they are used by criminal gangs in the tourist spots to get as much cash as possible.

It's everywhere. Up here there are days when you can't stop your car at a red light without having someone walk by you with a sign begging for money. They don't even clean your windshield, they just want a handout.

God forbid you make eye contact, then they own you.

Or like what happened to me the last time I gave someone money.. next thing I know I'm swarmed by all of his buddies.

I am from the same city as you and this shit just pisses me off all the time. I love when they ask if I have any xtra change, I usually tell them I have change, but nothing extra and what really pisses them off is when I come strolling out of circle K with a 12 pack.

Even when times were good, these fuckers just begged for money on a corner and did not want to work. I tried to give one some work one day helping with an install. I was going to pay him 20.00 bucks a hole (the hole was 6' x 24") and I had 6 post and panels to install (2 holes per sign), that was 12 holes and the fucker told me he would just stay on the corner......lazy freeloading idiots.

I managed a Papa John's one time, and there was this bum that always came in asking for old pizzas. One day I told if if you would wash the windows I would make him a pizza with anything on it he wanted. It was a store in a strip mall, maybe 10-15 feet ow windows across. Wouldn't have took over 5 minutes to do. Son of a bitch told me to fuck off cause he wouldn't clean any windows. Pisses me off too.

The problem with these people is that they make more money standing on a corner being a bum and are too fucking lazy to work. They could get temp work at manpower or other places like that, but they choose to take the easy way out and mooch off the working people :disgust

I don't feel a bit sorry for these people and have no problem walking right on by them.

Around here in Baltimore they are mostly drug addicts. They wouldn't do a days work for $200, they can make more begging.

Can't say how many times in Chicago I've had some bum come up to me wanting a few bucks to get a bite to eat, and I've offered knowing all well this is a scam for drugs/booze, to come join me for a bite at the closest fastfood place around, and I have never had any one take me up on the offer.

The last guy said 'Fuck you' to which I replied loud enough for the beat cop to hear 'You wanted a $1 for meal, I offered to buy you a Subway, and you said Fuck me?, well Fuck you too'

I used to see this guy bumming on a street corner in Charlotte about 10 years ago. He was there all day every day. One evening I got off work a little late and happened to get caught at the red light he worked at. I looked over and this same guy that is always bumming at the corner is getting into a fairly new looking Cadillac and driving off.

I just ignore them. I learned a long time ago that they really dont want to work and they are not hungry.

I only wish they would offer these people the chance to turn in a can for 5 or 10 cents. But unfortunately it would just lead to more crime. \

Most people would not start asking for change no matter how poor they become, these individuals you see have serious psychological issues, most often as result of abuse or neglect, that prevent them from having normal lives.

Happens all the time here in the small cities within Ontario. The large cities obviously do have a lot of them, like in Toronto. It's a given.

What pisses me off the most are the fuckign squeegee kids. They run up to your shit at stoplights, start spraying your windshield with thier little bottles of piss mixed with soap even when you tell them not to, do a half ass job, and then expect money

I usually hand out change here and there and once in a while if I go to a drive through at McDonalds or Tim Hortons or something I'll big up a second sandwich or 2 + coffee to give it away a few blocks down where I know there is always one poor bastard in the cold who could really use some food. The Squeegeepunks are another story. They clearly have money, take their poor fucking dogs with them where ever they go, have bad attitude etc. I saw one of them throw a rock at a car who wouldn't stop for him once. Clearly he was stoned or drunk, but still.

* Bums outside of the restaurants just sitting there. You had to literally step over them.
* Some handicap in Beverly Hills, Rodeo Drive. He was dressed like a ex-military guy.
* Black "rap stars" in Venice trying to get you to buy a copy of a signed CD.
* Mexicans with oranges or some other fruit on side of the road at the stop lights.
* Darth Vader and Iron Man in front of Gruman's Chinese Theatre asking for "tips".

See.. now I have no problem with people actually doing something to earn money. Selling oranges, CD's, Washing windshields, picking up recyclables, whatever.. just do something other than sticking your hand out.

When I was younger, I visited my dad in PA. Around xmas time, my stepmom baked a shitload of banana bread loaves and my dad took me to downtown philly. He stopped a homeless guy and offered him a loaf of the bread, guy took it and thanked up. Group of homeless saw it and flocked to us. They all got a loaf and we didn't give them any cash but they were happy.

Here in Southwest Florida though? I won't give anyone anything unless they ask me for food or something non alcoholic to drink which hasn't happened yet. I've had a few times someone ask for a few bucks to see them walk out a store later with a pack of smokes. That really pissed me off lol so I won't just toss em a few bucks anymore. If they genuinely wanted a meal though, I would probably hook em up.

There was one guy who was doing it in the relatively small city of London ontario. He started getting some notoriety locally because it was not a common sight on the roads, so the local news did an interview with him where he admitted he was making over thirty thousand a year tax free. Not bad for standing in one spot a few hours a day holding a sign. He ended up ruining his own business though by bragging about it on the news.
