Mount it as a secondary drive on another desktop and see if you can read it.

I did it as external drive and still wouldn't read it. I guess its a goodbye.
Now, how do I re-install windows on laptop without cd drive? its a little 11 inch one.

I have never had a problem with any mac/pc I've owned that wasn't hard drive related. Sucks. Good luck.

If you can get into BIOS and tell the laptop to boot from a USB stick:

If not, I think you can do it from an external CD drive as well.

Neat little trick i use for dying drives ... put then in a plastic bag and put them in the Freezer for a Few hours .... alot of the times you get enough time out of the drive to pull your data off ... Doesnt work all the time though

Indeed, if you failed to have a proper backup that often helps. Use dd_rescue to copy the drive if you have more than a few small files to recover.
