I have a soldering iron. It's in the garage. Used it once to fix my TV, replacing a computer chip.

I have both. . . they are somewhere in the shed in a toolbox and haven't been used in a long time.

V_RocKs 01-25-2012 06:12 PM

I have them both within arms reach at all times... I use them constantly as I create shit about as often as I create scripts... daily...

Its always good to have these items Never know when you want to build and FM transmitter or something else cool or fix something

georgeyw 01-25-2012 08:18 PM

Don't really think soldering iron and multimeter are classed as nerd tools :2 cents:

bronco67 01-25-2012 08:46 PM

Damn that's a confusing poll. WTF.

Does having a voltmeter make you a geek? I thought it would make you cooler, because you know how to work with electricity, but maybe our idea of what makes you geeky differs.

To me, you're a geek if you've seen every episode of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Dr Who.

GetSCORECash 01-25-2012 08:59 PM

If you own an acer laptop, you just got to own solderion kit with loop and all.

CYF 01-25-2012 10:18 PM

I own both, and used them last week :)

Spunky 01-25-2012 10:28 PM

I have both and used the voltmeter today

Geeks, checks out this little computer (the price is only $25), how much do you want it?

raymor 01-25-2012 11:31 PM

Both are right next to me, in the garage.

Have you ever used a soldering iron on your computer? Have you used a drill on your computer? I have, more than once.

One time my buddy brought me a $600 pocket computer (a Garmin style form factor) so that I could solder another smaller computer inside of it. That has to be one of the geekiest electronics projects I've done.

cooldude7 01-25-2012 11:33 PM

i own both,

I own multi meters, amp probes, tic testers, pin plugs, I don't think i've ever once used them for low voltage, though.
